Disconnecting: Corrupted check bytes on input.
Hi, just "cvs update"'d to get the latest portable version, to start rebuilding our AIX systems to get zlib-1.1.4 and the channel-bug fix. SSH protocol 2 seems to work nicely, ssh protocol 1 doesn't work properly. Environment: AIX 4.3.3, openssl 0.9.6c, openssh as of today (Mar 12, 11:20 GMT). Client/blowfish, to openssh 3.0p1 or to 2.5.1p1: debug1: Encryption type: blowfish

OpenSSH + Solaris + AFS ???
Hello *, sorry if i missed an article which already solves my problem. I need a working configuration of OpenSSH for Solaris 7 (SunOS 5.7) with AFS support. PAM support to use the AFS PAm module `pam_afs.so' and TCP-Wrapper support would be nice. It would be nice to have similar configurations for Solaris 6 (SunOS 5.6), Solaris 8 (SunOS 5.8) and Solaris 2.5.1. I have tested a few

RhostsAuthentication + nondefault port doesn't work?
Hello all, It seems that RhostsAuthentication does not work on non-default port no matter what when connecting from OpenSSH (2.1.1, 2.2.0 tried) either with protocol 1 or protocol 2 (shouldn't work either..). _However_ when connecting with SSH.COM Ltd's ssh, RhostsAuthentication works just fine! Checking the port number of ssh client you can see that OpenSSH doesn't assign

openssh 2.5.2p2/Solaris 5.8 problems
openssh 2.5.2p2 on Solaris 8 has PAM/cron problems. If I build it with PAM then cron quits working giving "cron audit problem." errors. If I turn PAM off then cron works but I get kicked out of any session where a password is needed (i.e. no .rhosts/.shosts or not using ssh-agent) with the message "Connection closed by IP#". I get through if I have a .rhosts/.shosts or use

Possible problem with hostbased protocol 1 rhosts authentication
I found this problem when working with the Suse9.1 distribution, but have since reproduced it with a vanilla build of Openssh (openssh-3.9p1.tar.gz). Basically I cannot get a command like this: XXXX>ssh -vvv -1 -o "RhostsAuthentication yes" AAAA to work. Yes the appropriate settings are in the servers sshd_config file. Hostbased protocol 1 ssh using rhosts between computers is

2.1.1p4: sessions automatically closed, if sshd is run from inetd
Hi all, I have noticed a problem with the newly released version 2.1.1p4 (as well as with 2.1.1p3) : If sshd is run from inetd, all interactive sessions are automatically closed right after (successful) login. The problem disappears, if sshd is run from the command line (ie. no -i option) and did not exist in 2.1.1p2. This was noticed on a linux x86 box. I have appended a typescript of the

I updated my Solaris 8 machines from openssh-2.3.0p1 to 2.5.1p1 yesterday and it fixed the cron/audit issue but now root logins are no longer permitted. I updated it to 2.5.1p2 this morning and that is still the case: golfer:/[207]# ssh -v tsunami OpenSSH_2.5.1p2, SSH protocols 1.5/2.0, OpenSSL 0x0090600f debug: Reading configuration data /var/ssh/ssh_config debug: Applying options for *

scp: write stdout: Broken pipe error (Tru64 UNIX)
I'm working on adding SIA authentication support to OpenSSH for use on Tru64 UNIX. The authentication bits are working but there's more work to be done including checking for locked accounts and setting resource limits. Anyway, most things seem to be working fine except for scp and I'm looking for a little help. Here's some output: % scp -v lopan:sl.tar . Executing: host lopan,

SSH2/1 Failure when using bash shell, other shells work
Got a strange problem here. We have OpenSSH 2.3.0p1 running on a variety of machines and on one particular Redhat 6.2 machine(all patches applied) we run into a situation where it will not allow us to start a shell when using bash or bash2. csh and others work fine. One note...if I enable PermitRootLogin, the user root IS allowed to login with bash. This is very strange. I'm guessing it

ssh 2.1.1p1 can't connect; ssh 1.2.3 can
My ISP supports connections via ssh. I was using OpenSSH 1.2.3 (portable) on Solaris 2.5.1 (with EGD), and I could connect to my ISP just fine. They're using the proprietary sshd version 1.2.26 as far as I can tell. A connect session looks like: $ ssh-1.2.3 -v -l foobar xx.xx.xx.xx SSH Version OpenSSH-1.2.3, protocol version 1.5. Compiled with SSL. debug: ssh_connect: getuid 390
