Testers wanted
To ensure that future releases of portable OpenSSH are as bug-free as
possible, we need to recruit a team of testers.
Each tester would be responsible for a particular OS platform and
would be called upon to test snapshots before they are marked as
official releases. The release would not go out until it had been
given the OK by testers on each supported platform.
A corollary of this is that

smb transfer
Hello samba gurus,
I'm just curious if there is a way to have samba be able to restart a
transfer of a file from the point that it left off? I'm guessing that it was
never intended for that use, but I thought I would ask anyway. I have a
Cisco router with about 95 modems in it and roughly 850 remote NT machines
connected via a WAN (dial-on-demand with Cisco routers).

Printer connection question
Hello,
Is it possible to set up a printer on a Sun Solaris (sparc 2.6) machine
and have it properly print to an HP Laserjet printer without the use of
jetdirect?
I'm trying to print to an NT controlled printer using Samba on the Sun
machine. I've been trying to utilize the "smbprint" command, however I'm
having all kinds of problems.
On the Sun machine, I add the printer

puppet way of handling rdist and triggers
We have an existing "management system" of sorts, based on rdist. I''d like
to know the best way to migrate it to using puppet.
Currently, we have a local binaries tree, rdisted out nightly. We also
make use of rdist''s extra capability to trigger scripts when and if named
files are updated.
I''m not sure what the best method would be, of converting this to

SAMBA PROBLEMS ON A DATA GENERAL
Ok, I'm not too sure if this is the right list or not. I have had no
problems compiling Samba on any of our machines, except our 2 DGUX (Data
General Unix) systems. Once I start the make file, is when I get a bunch
of "Error code 2 (ignored)". I think its the compiler, but not sure.
I'm running MU05 on the DG, hopefully one of you has had this same
problem before. DG's sight

Why does this logon-script not work under Win9x ?
Hi,
i'm having a serious problem with the following logon-script.
It works under W2k, but not under W98, although W98 tells
it is running startup-script ..
First my smb.conf (only interesting parts) :

server string = Samba-PDC %v on %h
workgroup = WORKGROUP
encrypt passwords = yes

[Compile Issue] netcat.c on HP NonStop
Greetings,
I am porting the openssh-portable 6.8 release to the HP NonStop (NSE)
platform. Prior versions were no real problem, with minor tweeks. However,
with the inclusion of regress/netcat.c, which depends on arpa/telnet.h, we
have an issue. Unfortunately, the platform does not have this file, nor
anything like it - telnet is done rather differently. We do have a version
of netcat (0.7.1

problem with Rmpi 0.5-5 and openmpi
Dear knowledgeable experts :-),
I am trying to get openmpi, Rmpi and SNOW running on a Myrinet/GM

installation of Rmpi and SNOW.
I try to load the Rmpi library and get the following:

R-beta: multiple binary types
I've modified the "$RHOME/bin/R" and "$RHOME/cmd/filename" so that you
can use the same directories for multiple machines. That is, machines
running various flavors of UNIX can access the same directories.
The modified structure adds the directories
$RHOME/bin/$OSTYPE/
$RHOME/lib/$OSTYPE/
to hold the machine specific binaries.
For instance, here the $RHOME directory
