debug output when ssh'ing a remote host
Hi list,
I'm not sure whether this (see below) is a "bug" or a feature but as I cannot find any information on this neither in the INSTALL file nor via ./configure --help or somewhere else, I would like to ask you whether there is an answer to my question.
Thanx a lot & kind regards - have a nice day,
B. Courtin

possible clue on tcp forwarding problems
When I encounter the problem with TCP port forwarding locking up, I'll
see this on the client window (if I haven't invoked ssh with -q):
chan_shutdown_read failed for #1/fd6: Transport endpoint is not connected
chan_shutdown_read failed for #1/fd6: Transport endpoint is not connected
This is with Blowfish encryption. I have to kill and restart the client
when this happens.

Samba-3.0beta2 PDC with LDAP backend
Just tried with Samba3.0beta2 as PDC with LDAP
backend. Machine still cannot automatically join
domain. Workstation entry added to LDAP via add
machine script but got access denied during the join.
A join immediately following the first join succeeded.
Here is the trace in the smbd log.

X forwarding from Linux -> Irix not working
I'm logging in from an irix machine to a linux machine (both running
openssh-2.5.1p2) and am unable to run any X applications.
I ran a verbose session and this happens:

3.4p1 X forwarding under AIX
Anybody seen this error before and know how to fix it? I only seem to
get this under AIX (AIX 4.2.1 - haven't tried higher levels yet). I have
not seen this under Solaris and Linux yet.

Hi,
when I try to boot my notebook from a USB disc, the system freezes

Work around Linux kernel bug provoked by nchan.c
The Linux implementation of TCP sockets has a bug which causes
shutdown(sock, SHUT_RD) to fail spuriously (ENOTCONN) if the write
side of the socket has already been shut down. If you are using SSH
port forwarding to tunnel HTTP through a firewall, nchan.c will tickle
this bug once for every HTTP exchange. You will therefore get lots of
useless, annoying error messages:

Bug#366216: vif-bridge: offlining the interface fails because interface already offline
Package: xen-utils-3.0
Version: 3.0.2+hg9656-1
Severity: normal
My setup is a basic one. No changes to the /etc/xen/* files.
Network in a domU works perfectly fine.
But, after shutdowning a domU, I can see the following lines in
/var/log/debug:

Samba3 PDC with LDAP
Dear All,
I still cannot get Samba3 (beta3) to work as PDC with
LDAP backend. I still encounter the problem of having
to join an XP workstation two times in succession
before the join is successful. This does not happen on
Samba2.2.8a. For both Samba 2.2.8a and samba3 beta i
have workstation accounts added directly to ldap (via
add-machine-script) without adding a corresponding
entry in

crazy isolinux bug?- cmdline truncated only on vaio vgn-n250e
Ok, this is crazy, but I have a livedvd I created with fedora-8's
syslinux-3.36-7.fc8
and when I boot under qemu ( -boot d -cdrom /dev/dvd) it boots just
fine, but when I boot it on the actual hardware (vaio vgn-n250e), the
kernel cmdline gets truncated at about the 99th character, causing problems.
The same exact physical livedvd booted on a different box does not get
truncated.

3.1p1 breaks X11 forwarding
I just recently updated to 3.1p1 and it seems that some X11 forwarding
connections are broken while others work. For instance xterm always
works fine. But Synchronize (group calendar program) always crashes
with the following error. This happens even if I disable access
control using 'xhost +'.
X11 connection rejected because of wrong authentication.
