reg coalescing improvements
Hi, I am seeing cases of poorly coalesced IV updates on SystemZ: In the final IR, it is obvious that %R4D<def> = LA %R2D<kill>, 4, %noreg // R4 = R2 + 4 %R2D<def> = LGR %R4D<kill> // R2 = R4 could be optimized to -> %R2D<def> = LA %R2D<kill>, 4, %noreg // R2 = R2 + 4 The reason this wasn't coalesced, is

how to store estimates results as scalars of a matrix?
Dear R users, I've written a loop to generate Moran's test (spdep package) on serval subsamples of a large dataset. See below a short example. My loop is working fine, however I would like to be able to store the test results as lines of a matrix, that I would latter be able to export as a dataset. My problem is that I'm not sure how I could do this using R. Any help will be much

How to handle NA-values in raster-based Geary´s C test?
Hi, I have a question on testing spatial autocorrelation on raster data including NA-values. In particular, I like to calculate Moran?s I and Geary?s C indices by using inverse distance weighting matrices. Calculating Moran?s I with moran.test works fine, because the function contains the option "na.action=na.pass". Unfortunately, the function geary.test does not contain this

Running a column loop through the Moran.I function.
Dear R users, I have two data frames that consist of statistical information for most countries around the world. One dataframe consists of the latitude and longitude ("coord.csv") of each country, while the other consists of 100's of different attributes ("countryattri.csv") for each country (like, GDP, Population, etc.). The data is organized with a header and then

how to find observed Moran's I value using moran.test(spdep)
Dear , This is Elaine. I am computing moran's I using moran.test for a generalized linear model (multiregression). The following contents are the results, and I cannot find the observed Moran's I mentioned as estimate in the manual. Please kindly help indicate if there is observed Moran's I did not notice or other method for calculation. Thanks Elaine data: residuals(modg1)

installing R on slackware linux, another route
I have been reading the archives of this list and noticed a post from Murray Jorgensen asking about how to install R under slackware. The replies were all to the effect that he should compile from the source. There is another path that is better for some purposes. Download the red hat binary package, the .rpm file, then run rpm2targz on it, a slackware program designed to convert rpm packages

Error Installing Package with Dependency on "Matrix"
I'm attempting to update to R 2.15.1, and I'm having trouble with a package that depends on the "Matrix" package. I've created a dummy package consisting only of a DESCRIPTION file that specifies the dependence on "Matrix", a NAMESPACE file, and an R directory, containing a single function, "square <- function(x) { return (x*x) }". When I try to

I still get tls warnings. I''m pretty sure i have followed everything

Moran I for very large data set
Hi Are there any more efficient ways of calculating the neighbourhood object for large datasets? I am trying to compute Moran I statistics for a very large data set (over 14,000 points). I have been using moran.test from the spdep package and everything works fine for a small data set (200 points). However, applying the same script to the whole dataset is taking days to compute (it so far has

New user...tips for spdep?
Hello List, I'm a very new user to the R system. I'm only beginning to learn the basics, but so far I've been able to do little more than try a few examples, and of course begin reading the documentation. My primary motivation for exploring R is the availability of tools like the 'spdep' package for calculating spatial statistics such as Geary's C and Moran's

Plot Moran's I
Hello all, I'm a new user of R and I have used the spdep package to calculate Moran's I estimates. I used the dnearneigh() function and moran.test() function and obtained what I wanted, but now I want to plot my results with the p-values. I regrouped my results for the Moran's I like >m=c(m1$e,m2$e...) #m1 contain the results of the moran.test for lag1
