OpenSSH on OpenStep 4.2 -- Mostly working!!! =)
I have an initial port of the SSH client. Only one known issue with it.
sigaddset(), sigempty(), and sigprocmask() don't exist on NeXT without
using libposix which I'm now avoiding (thanks, Garance A Drosehn) like
the plague because it conflicts too much. Only thing this affects is
the readpass.c file at this point. Which means if you ctrl-C out of
the password prompt you mess up your

Hi,
I am new to Linux environment and trying to setup SAMBA 4.2.3 on one of our CentOS 7 server. I followed SAMBA wiki and other links and was able to build and install the SAMBA on the machine.
Using checkinstall-1.6.2-3.el6.1.x86_64.rpm I am able to create the rpm package also, however when I use this rpm package [samba 4.2.3] to install on another CentOS machine it fails with below errors

Long awaited round 1 of NeXT patches.
This is about 90% of the core work. I omited a few files from the patch
set since they are basicly small blocks of #ifndef HAVE_NEXT/#endif to
get it to compile.
Daimen, feel free to let me know what you applied and what your
rejecting and why.. so I can work on cleaning things up.
Andre, Only thing of note you may want to look into is NeXT does not
use "ut_user" in it's lastlog.

Sys.putenv environment variables disappear (PR#1371)
Environment variables set with Sys.putenv() disappear (i.e. become "")
after a while, especially after heavy-duty I/O. Example:
R> x <- matrix(1., 3000, 3000)
R> save(x, file="myx.RData")
R> Sys.putenv(HOME="/tmp")
R> while (Sys.getenv("HOME") != "") {cat("ok\n"); load("myx.RData")}
The loop prints

R windows FAQ (PR#1733)
Full_Name: Kevin Wright
Version: 1.5.1
OS: Windows 95
Submission from: (NULL) (170.54.59.160)
In the R windows FAQ, item 3.6 (Package TclTk does not work) currently has this
line:
Sys.putenv("TCL_LIBRARY"="c:/Program Files/Tcl/lib/tcl8.3")
I find that if I execute the following two lines after starting R, I can then do
library(tcltk) and demo(tkdensity) as usual. I do

Change the language of the labels in a graph
Hello,
How do you change the language of the labels in a graph. In this example, I
want to get French labels by changing Sys.putenv. I should get "Mai"
instead of "May".
Sys.putenv(LANGUAGE="fr")
x <- as.Date(c("1jan1960", "2jan1960", "31mar1960", "30jul1960"), "%d%b%Y")
y <-1:4
plot(x,y)

WxRuby + Ruby/SDL
Hi,
I am making a game with Ruby/SDL and have run into trouble finding a GUI
to cooperate. I have seen numerous examples of wxWindows in combination
with SDL (wxPython and PyGame), but have yet to be able to do it in ruby
(PyGame example: http://wiki.wxpython.org/index.cgi/IntegratingPyGame).
I am not very good with wxRuby as this is my first time using it and
thought some more knowledgable users

proxy settings
Hi all,
I used to connect internet via a proxy. Before update packages I wrote in R
Sys.putenv("http_proxy"="http://proxy3.redegov.sp.gov.br:80/")
Nevertheless the way the connection is done has changed. For example, in the
browser the proxy is not indicated and I have to give an username and a
password to have access to internet.
I read the FAQ and the help for

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hello,
Dovecot v1.0.0 deliver erases the environment if DEBUG is set, hence, also
(probably) erases SENDMAIL_PATH if it has been read from configuration

Problem setting environment variable in R/zzz.R
I am trying to get the Rmetrics.org component package fBasics by Diethelm
Wuertz into a Debian package. Thanks to a lot of work by Diethelm, it is
_almost_ there. It fails 'R CMD check' for me if I do not have the TZ
environment variable set [1], yet works fine as long as I set TZ.
I figured I could patch this in R/zzz.R and do

Hello All,
I tried to install RMySQL package, but the error
messages says there is no such package, even though I
did see RMySQL is there in the contributed package
list in all mirror sites of CRAN I tried. Not sure
what is the problem.

Unix proxy and firewall problems
I was trying to install R on a unix server. Because of a firewall i can't
install biocLite for working with Bioconductor.
With windows it wasn't a problem. I used the option '--internet2' to bypass the
firewall.
I don't have any idea, how to do it with unix.
I tried to set my proxy

how to set environment variables?
The help file of the R bitmap function says that I have to set the
environment variable R_GSCMD to the path of my Ghostscript
installation. How do I set this variable (either by commandline or in
R.app for Mac)? Sorry if this sounds like a very basic question, but
I could not find the answer anywhere else.
Many thanks
