openssh-1.2pre15 on AIX
Hi.
Pre15 compiles out-of-the-box on AIX 4.3.2 ...almost.
No patch included this time, but the following were the gotchas:
- The __P() prototyping doesn't work (as discussed earlier)
- bsd-daemon.o wasn't linked into libssh.a (though configure seemed to
detect the need for it)
DCE patch will follow shortly.
Regards,
Tor-?ke

SYSLINUX 3.10-pre15
I just picked up 3.10-pre15 and the "PXELINUX corrupts graphic filename
referenced from DISPLAY file" bug is zapped. Yipee! Thanks hpa. And
Arwin too, if that 'xor esi, esi' was the crux.
However, LOCALBOOT -1 and LOCALBOOT 0 don't work the same as they did
for me in 3.07. :-(
3.07:
LOCALBOOT -1 apears to work as I have a hard disk listed in bios boot
order after the

Changing the PATH from the command line
I am not very experienced with the MSDOS command line
and even less so with wine.
I am working on a realtime embedded C project and must,
for the time being, use DOS command line tools. Since
my work environment for decades has been Unix and Unix-like,
I am trying to get the tool set to run under Wine on Hardy.
I have solved several problems, but now I need to reset
the path. I have a .bat

testing out 6.03 network booting...
Hi all,
wasnt sure whether this was the best place to put this information; but something seems to have gone 'backwards' in the later pre-releases of 6.03 regarding network booting.
below are results of me testing - i did each a few times to make sure they are valid results.
hope it helps identify something that's gone awry ?
so far, 6.03 pre11 and pre13 (excluding efi32) seem most

bug in syslinux 6.01 with gigabyte GA-P31-DS3L
Hello,
I didn't try 6.02-pre15, I will do and I will post the results,
my keyboard is a PS/2 model, the "legacy USB storage option" is enabled,
I tried also an USB keyboard but there is no change, so it's not a
keyboard problem, it probably something in syslinux ( ldlinux.sys ? )
who create a serious bug with my motherboard,
I tried also with a USB HDD ( not a flash drive )

another index question
I am hoping for some advice regarding another index problem. The code
below is intended to assign a value of 'V' if values on certain
variables are >= 1, assign a value of 'N' if values on certain
variables are >= 1 on other variables and assign a 'O' if values on
any variable which have a value <= 0.
The outcome of this code is to assign a single

SYSLINUX 3.71-pre15: release candidate
Hi all,
I just pushed out SYSLINUX 3.71-pre15. This version officially begins
the release candidate stage of SYSLINUX 3.71. To be honest, I'm a bit
baffled that the numbers got that high for what has always been intended
as a maintenance/bugfix release, but those 15 prereleases only
correspond to 55 commits total, so I guess it's really not that much.

fixed point speex encoder targeted to embedded devices
Hi!
I have heavily lobotomized libspeex, resulting in a fixed point
encoder for 8khz sampling rate and 32 bit signals.

Openssh 1.2pre15: Command terminated on sig. 11
A bug has found its way into Openssh-1.2pre15. It has forced us to downgrade
to pre14.
Our test hosts are connected with regular Ethernet and by an internal VPN.
With that in mind, any given host has two IP addresses. Starting with pre15
we get the fatal error message below every time we connect to the EXTERNAL
ip address (eth0). For some reason, we continue to be able to connect to the

bug in syslinux 6.01 with gigabyte GA-P31-DS3L
Hello,
I notice a bug in syslinux 6.01 ( bios version ) when I install it in a
USB flash drive ( FAT32 partition ) and when I want to boot this USB
flash drive with a gigabyte motherboard ( GA-P31-DS3L ),
I setup my usb flash drive ( 4 Gb ) like this in windows XP :
syslinux.exe -m -a -i -d /boot/syslinux H:
then I create a syslinux.cfg menu and I add these files : chain.c32
libcom32.c32

syslinux-4.10-pre15 and KVM guest booting problem
Hi,
I have a problem to report with the 4.10-pre15 branch.
The problem is that my KVM guest "just reboots" when booting off the network.
The setup is as follows:
Host OS: RHEL 6.0/RHEL 6.1 with the default packages (no additional repos or packages)
KVM guest configured to network boot.
(maybe irrelevant info ...) ?!?
DHCP server (using dnsmasq) in the same subnet as the KVM host.

This would help since dead nodes do not clutter the visual representation.
What are the effects, if any, of dead nodes in the hosts/ dir?
Thanks

Yum Issues with Dev groups
Just my luck,
None of my CentOS systems or my Fedora systems can #yum groupinstall "Development Tools" "Development Libraries"?
Both are having dep issues? Is that a coincidence, or what's going on?
The CentOS boxes all complain:
--> Processing Dependency: glibc-common = 2.5-18.el5_1.1 for package: glibc
Error: No Package Matching glibc.i686

gpxelinux.0 and slow HTTP performance on VMware ESX VM
Hi,
first of all I would like to voice my deep gratitude to all syslinux developers
for this really important software. I am using it in all my automation projects
and could not manage without.
Unfortunately now I stumbled upon a problem where I am out of my wits and need
some help.
The core problem is that HTTP transfers by gpxelinux.0 are very slow. Sadly this
problem seems to be somehow

OpenSSH-1.12pre15: fun with ulimit
Since upgrading from pre11 (aack, that was old!) to pre15, i get the
following message when logging in via ssh to a box with the OpenSSH
server running:
ulimit: cannot raise limit: Operation not permitted
I've traced this to the following command in /etc/profile:
ulimit -c 1000000
It seems as if sshd is turning off core dumps for the shell session it
spawns. Any idea what change

OT:Question on gen-id.sh $id
Somewhat off-topic.
I've noticed for some time, when one recompiles the syslinux, that
it uses an id that is created by the gen-id.sh script that seems to
be a hex string by making the id variable equal to the $tim
variable.
I had modified the script to append the the prexx of the directory
to the $tim variable. Tested it with the pre15 and pre17 that came
out today. The first one
