OpenSSH 2.2.0p1 port to QNX 4
Dear OpenSSH porting developers, finally I succeded in porting OpenSSH to QNX 4. To get things going I had to take over some definitions from Linux' include files, since they are not available under QNX (e.g. the howmany makro, NFDBITS, the lastlog structure). With this email I send a patch with all my changes as well as the file "qnx-term.h" which I created because IXANY and

Question re wtmp and 2.5.1
Hi, I've got a 2.8-RELEASE box that uses the old utmp.h with: #define UT_NAMESIZE 8 #define UT_LINESIZE 8 #define UT_HOSTSIZE 16 2.5.1's ssh/login.c seems use this by including <utmp.h>. However, when a remote user logs into this box, the wtmp file is munged from that point on. There are no notes about this on the OpenSSH site ("OpenSSH compiles cleanly

OpenSSH 1.2.3 on AIX 4.3.3
Hmph. I wish I had checked the list before I wasted a half-day on this. Yes, the problem exists under AIX (mine's 4.3.1). Here's the patch I came up with, which may be a little more straightforward than the original. I confirmed that it works under Solaris 2.[67] too. Don't forget to run autoconf. --- bsd-login.c.orig Sat Dec 25 18:21:48 1999 +++ bsd-login.c Thu Apr 20 18:26:41

[solaris 7 patch] resubmit and extended ...
Okay, everything as the first large one I sent today, with a few extra mods. _PATH_MAILDIR is only used in sshd.c, that I can see, so moved the #ifdef from config.h.in to there. several files had __progname defined in the middle of the code, as well as at the top of the code, so cleaned those out. all the fixes for u_int32_t -> uint32_t and u_int16_t -> uint16_t, plus added appropriate

patch for "gone - no logout" output from last(1)
Greetings, After upgrading one of my systems to the linux 2.6.4 kernel, it started having problems recording the logout entries in the wtmp file. I traced this to a bug in loginrec.c, where a variable (line) is declared as an array of 8 characters. This length is substantially shorter than the 16 character array size of ut_line, so openssh effectively truncates the pseudo-tty name when the

[openssh-1.2pre13] patch for solaris 7 ...
The attached patch contains fixes for: 1. the fact that solaris 7 has no u_int32_t/u_int16_t defined, but they do define uint32_t/uint16_t...this chances the define in config.h.in, which doesn't work, to a properly configure test, and define in config.h.in 2. fixes a bug in config.h.in where paths.h is included, yet HAVE_PATHS_H is undefined 3. fixes a bug in bsd-daemon.c where

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I have just uploaded 1.2pre13 to http://violet.ibs.com.au/openssh/ Imporant changes: - - Fixes a single-byte buffer overrun in the PAM code. - - Quite a bit more Solaris support. EGD should work now (please test). - - Lots more autoconf options to enable Kerberos, AFS, TCP Wrappers and S/Key (all untested). - - MD5 passwords for Slackware Linux

[2.1.1p4] utmp patch for SunOS 4.1.x
Follow-on to Charles Levert's <charles at comm.polymtl.ca> work on utmp_write_direct. Fixed: -- At logout, the utmp entry is cleared. Tested on SunOS 4.1.4. openssh and DOS
It appears that openssh has inherited the dos attack that ssh is susceptible to. This has been discussed on Bugtraq (see http://securityportal.com/list-archive/bugtraq/1999/Sep/0124.html for the thread). There does not appear to be an official for ssh. Attached below is a simple, proof of concept, patch that adds a MaxConnections to sshd_config that sets the maximum number of simultaneous

openssh 1.2pre13 on Linux/i386 RH4.2 problems
Can't compile sshd.c because of pam errors. The errors are attached below, and I apologize for the >75 chars a line. RH4.2, with the latest updates, runs pam-0.57-5. I could upgrade PAM from source, but I'd probably break other programs. gcc -g -O2 -Wall -I/usr/local/ssl/include -DETCDIR=\"/etc/ssh\" -DSSH_PROGRAM=\"/usr/bin/ssh\"

PATCH: Fixing last/utmpx for Solaris
In case it is any help, here is the patch against openssh-3.0.1p1 that corrects the problem with last reporting on Solaris that I sent to the list a week or so ago against 3.0p1. There was no conversation about this aside from Rip Loomis' comment about including it to support BSM auditing - does this present a problem for other OSes to include the ut_name field in the utmpx entry? Should this
