NT_STATUS_INTERNAL_ERROR from RPC server on samba 4.5.8 AD DC
yes, this should work fine but this is something in your setup.
can you try this
kinit Administrator
net
ads join -k -s fqdn-dc1.dom.tld
if kinit fails, then Rowland wil find your error..
ive seen this few times.. -S solves it most of the times.

"failed to lookup DC info for domain over rpc" when joining samba4 domain
Hi,
I have an existing samba4 domain with 2 domain controllers on different
sites.
Both domain controllers are running samba 4.1.17
Until recently the domain operated exactly as expected. I recently tried
to join a new machine to the domain and received the error:
Failed to join domain: failed to lookup DC info for domain

I'm not sure what has triggered

Tearing my hair out:
I have a samba 2.2.8a PDC, no windows servers at all.
The local network works. Conan, the PDC also acts as a WINS
server. Postie, the DHCP server sets:
option netbios-name-servers 192.168.1.241 ;
option netbios-node-type 2 ;
All clients have lmhosts file with:
192.168.1.241 conan #pre #dom:sjsa
192.168.1.242 postie #pre
Last week I needed to reinstall a computer, named pixel

NT_STATUS_INTERNAL_ERROR from RPC server on samba 4.5.8 AD DC
Hi,
I provided the dump of all the conf files to Rowland by email but in
case anyone else is curious they are also here:
http://www.irconan.co.uk/dc.tar http://www.irconan.co.uk/member.tar
I tried providing -S to the join command which didn't change the
behaviour. It doesn't seem to have trouble finding the DC, only when
connecting to the RPC server.
Cheers,
Richard

OpenSSH-Client without reverse tunnel ability
Good day!
A few weeks ago, we had a security breach in the company I'm working
for, because employees used "ssh -R" to expose systems from our internal
network to some SSH server in the outer world.
Of course, this is a breach of our internal security policy, but lead us
to wonder, whether there is a technical solution to prevent our users
from creating SSH-reverse-tunnels.

r square values for independent variables in multiple linear regr ession model -- newbie
Hello
Could you please suggest a way to find out the r square values for each
independent variable while using "lm" for developing a multiple linear
regression model.
Thank you

Package 'R2HTML'
I recently learnt how to use Sweave which is a wonderful tool
After which i also tried to use R2HTML as it would allow many of my
colleagues who dont use latex to be able to use and edit my work. I was
unable to make it work and couldnt find a way to implement it. I got some

I wonder if you could help me with it

Best procedure for migration?
Looking in both Samba3 by example and in Samba HowTo has come up
empty. There is a chapter in Howto on migrating from 2.2.8, but
it mostly describes the changes in 3 from 2. Nothing on best
practices on how to do it.
I have two servers running samba 2.2.8a. on FreeBSD 4.5 I have
two new (new to me anyway... 2nd hand netfinity boxes) running
FreeBSD 6.1 along with a fresh install from
