How to upgrade WBEL4 to CentOS4?
Hi,
I've got a couple of servers that are running WBEL4 that I would like to
upgrade to CentOS4. I noticed that there is a FAQ which explains how to
upgrade WBEL3 to CentOS3, but haven't found anything similar for WBEL4.
Are the instructions for the WBEL3 upgrade the same for WBEL4? Should I be
doing something else instead?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Eric

RH fucks up quite often recently
Latest really rude show stoppers were/are:
el6:
- librsvg2: your private fork bomb for gnome
- kernel: scheduler completely broken on numa systems
- qt: kde unusable when going up from -26 to -28
el5:
- firefox hangs on quit after latest ESR update
- (totem plugins no longer work too)
What I am using an enterprise distro for??

Fwd: [Rpm-devel] rpm-4.4.3-0.34 for CentOS3
If anyone would like to help test the latest RPM on Centos 3, heres
your chance. There are several new features that are not mentioned
in Jeff's email, but as he said he wants to make sure it does no harm
more than anything else. As an example though, this version
supports:
- runtime depedency checking (think of being able to have cpan
modules that weren't installed by rpm being

List of updates in Update 3 ?
While update 3 was released last week, it looks
like there are 40 or so packages updated. I dunno
about squid, it is listed on
http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/rhel4as-errata.html
but the changelog is from October 2005 (unless it is an rhel only
bug).

clicking backspace in centos3 makes ^?
While in centos3, using vim and clicking the backspace I see the ^?
character instead of it actually deleteing the previous character.
In centos4 this was not a problem.
I have rad about remapping keys and such, but can someone tell me what
the difference between centos4 and centos3 is so I can make the change
to make it work on centos3.

openssl update
Hi all,
Just a quick Q on the new openssl update. I recently converted from
wbel3 to centos3, so my installed version of openssl _seems_ newer than
the new version. Below are some details that may help... So the
question is... should I force the install of the newly released version?

rhel3 < centos3 updates
Hi all,
I've been approached by someone who has an installation of rhel ES 3
(taroon update 2) to see whether I can take over doing security and
other updates for them (no current rhn subscription).
What I want to know is, with a suitable yum setup can I use a centos3
repository to apply updates to this box? If so, should I source updates
from centos 3.5? Does the whole box need to become a

How to downgrade gtk2 libs in CentOS 6.8?
Hi all. I'm using a CentOS 6.8 VM to do volunteer builds for an open
source project. I want to build Pale Moon with a gtk2 library older
than 2.24, to allow people with older linuxes to run it. Short summary,
if built against version gtk2-2.24 and/or higher, the binary will use a
function that does not exist in gtk2-2.23 and lower. Net result is that
the program dies with an
