Missing Dependency subversion is needed by package subversion-ruby
Greets. I''m currently trying to install GIT on an RHEL5 box. I''ve tried to both build from source and install via yum. In both instances I continue to receive the error message (full error stack at the end):
Error: Missing Dependency: subversion = 1.4.2-2.el5 is needed by package subversion-ruby
If I''m reading this correctly I''m seeing that svn

Subversion problem - since you guys talked me into it :)
Following the advice here I''ve been trying to get subversion installed and working from my virtual dedicated server this weekend. I believe everything is installed properly, and that all that''s left is to get the apache httpd.conf file set up correctly. to talk to my server with my client I''m using the path: http://svn.mylittlecorneroftheinternet.com/svn/repos/ error

Occasional faults - CentOS server running subversion
Dear All, I've got a small server at work, built from a Via Epia SP 8000E mini-ITX motherboard and a Seagate SATA hard drive. The application of this server is to provide versioned file storage, using subversion. I'm running CentOS, with Apache 2 and SSL to provide controlled access to the subversion repositories. There have been two problems with this machine:- Problem 1 Every once

Problem with --link-dest from within subversion working copy
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello, I've just encountered an issue where using --link-dest from within a Subversion working copy does not create hard links as intended. The idea is to supply the build toolchain for an embedded software development project to all users without having to force everybody to check out the whole stuff. This way we have the toolchain under

Subversion, testing a quickstart guide, version control for a Rails project
I just burned 3 hours figuring out Subversion, so I made up a little quickstart guide. Try the guide and see if you can get version control going in ... say ... 30 minutes? I assume your situation is: You are setting up version control on a new subdirectory on your computer. You will copy your entire rails project directory tree into the new subdirectory after you get subversion running.

info/EL5: subversion / mod_dav_svn
Just to point out that EL5 does not get this patch: https://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2015-0165.html "A NULL pointer dereference flaw was found in the way the mod_dav_svn module handled REPORT requests. A remote, unauthenticated attacker could use a specially crafted REPORT request to crash mod_dav_svn. (CVE-2014-3580)" https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1174054#c17

Capistrano with Local (not file:///) repository
I''m developing an rails app. The SVN repository resides on a (Win 2k) server on my company''s local intranet. The repository is accessed via http (Apache + mod_dav_svn). From this machine, it is not a problem to get out onto the Internet. However, coming in from the Internet is not possible (at least, not without a VPN connection). Given this, is it possible to use

winbind: group name doesn't map to a SID, but gid does
I'm using winbind v3.0.22 on Debian Linux as a source for nss info. I have a group that was once known by winbind, but is no more: ------ beging shell except ------ # ls -ld ./ drwxrws--- 10 root $MND000-TT227MV5K24I 4096 2006-05-10 15:41 ./ # ------ end shell except ------ It must have been known, as I was the one who chgrp'ed the dir originally. I know what the group name is

backups and md5 all in one while splitting
I'm trying to back up our svn repositories, and I found a nice little backup command line bzip's the backup and creates the md5 hash all in one: svnadmin dump --deltas /repo |bzip2 |tee dump.bz2 | md5sum >dump.md5 The problem is I need to split the backups, so this doesn't really work. Is there perhaps another way of piping things to allow for splitting of the backups?

Subversion CentOS documentation problem - can someone fix this?
Hi - the "Subversion on CentOS" are missing a key point - can someone modify: http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/Subversion to fix them? These docs need to add the info from: http://www.virtualmin.com/node/9539 Basically, "In your /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf, there should be a series of LoadModule lines that load "dav_module" and "dav_fs_module" (amongst others)

SVN+SSH
Hello Rails, I am working on a web app and trying to integrate some source control into our existing user and password base. I would like to use svnserve if possible but most importantly I would like to have svnserve or the (SVN server) use my cygwin accounts to access the files and manage my source control. Is this possible? the thing I have mostly been looking into is svn+ssh:// that

User not really in group
I have a Debian Etch AMD64 server running Samba 3.0.24. It is joined to an active directory domain. Most everything works quite well. I had set up a user for a scanner but forgot to add it to a group so that it could access the target folder, so the scans failed. I then added the account to the group, but for some reason it is still denied access to the directory. I su'ed to the user, and
