SSH connection hang after upgrade
I recently had to upgrade my version of OpenSSH from 4.7 to 5.0p1 on my MacBook (Darwin). I installed the latest 'portable' tarball and removed the system version: $ ssh -V OpenSSH_5.0p1, OpenSSL 0.9.7l 28 Sep 2006 $ which ssh /usr/bin/ssh sshd is the same version, installed in /usr/sbin/sshd. Now, things are a bit broken: I am able to ssh from another machine into my MacBook, so the

5.1p1 doesn't work, 5.0p1 works fine
5.1p1 disconnects after the password prompt when connecting to my router and UPS. 5.1p1 connects fine to other unix hosts, and my Windows client connects fine to 5.1p1 servers. 5.0p1 works fine everywhere. I've tried ssh -T, ssh -t, permutations with ssh -o Compression=no -o TCPKeepAlive=no, etc, to no avail. I've used the default ssh_config file, and it still fails. Can anyone

OpenSSH and X.509 Certificate Support
Hi, I need to add X.509 Certificate support to OpenSSH. I came across the following post on the openssh-unix-dev mailing list that is very useful: http://marc.info/?l=openssh-unix-dev&m=120298135706959&w=2 <http://marc.info/?l=openssh-unix-dev&m=120298135706959&w=2> And also, http://marc.info/?l=openssh-unix-dev&m=104395024824680&w=2

LPK integration - summary and ideas
Hello everybody, I'd like to have LPK (or something like that - getting public keys from LDAP) integrated into mainline OpenSSH. *** First of all, a summary. The project page at http://code.google.com/p/openssh-lpk/ mentions that a few distributions include LPK per default; but reading the various threads at Support for merging LPK and hpn-ssh into mainline openssh?

SSH 2.4.0 remote forward patch in next release?
I [1]reported a problem on 5-April-2005 about a problem with the 4.0p1 version and remote port forwarding to SSH 2.4.0 servers. I provided a patch for the problem but [2]was told that no more patches were being considered until 4.1 was released and that I should attach my patch to a new Bugzilla bug. This [3]I did. Is there any chance it will be included in the next release? 1.

[PATCH] Requiring multiple auth mechanisms (updated)
Jefferson Ogata's patch http://marc.info/?l=openssh-unix-dev&m=108134938701018&w=2 adds a multiple authentication methods option to sshd. I updated the patch to 4.7p1 and added logic to allow it to work with privilege separation. https://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1435 -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... chroot'd SFTP
Thanks for these 3rd party hacks! I don't trust them. There must be such feature in openssh out of box. So the most secure/easyer method of giving sftp access to porn collection is: Damiens sftp-server chroot patch, which I hope to see in openssh one day :) http://marc.info/?l=openssh-unix-dev&m=116043792120525&w=2 # useradd -d /data/p0rn -m share /etc/ssh/sshd_config: Match user
