Has anyone found out any problem with ODBC accesss to sybase sql servers? On my setup the win32 driver (DBCLIENT.EXE) starts when executed from the command line, but does not when called from the application; or the application is not able to talk with a running DBCLIENT process. Hi, I use openssh-2.9p2 on a LynxOS i386 system. The ssh and scp clients work fine. Even sftp from other Linux systems works. But, if I make sftp to the localhost (LynxOS), the authentication succeeds, prints sftp> prompt and then exits. I don't know why this happens. I have not set the euid of ssh program to root as it does not work in LynxOS (may be problem with saved ids). Might this

I am looking for a way to tell if the monitor is on or off? xset q - seems to only work if DPMS turns off the monitor. If I or someone actually turns off the monitor xset q still shows on. If I do xset dpms force off ; sleep 5; xset q the monitor shows off. So is there a way to tell if the monitor is actually on or off? Thanks, Jerry

Greetings - Users of the box I'm putting together will need to be able to run R remotely, using a virtual desktop. One approach (that I'm trying) is to use VNC. So far, I can get the remote gnome desktop up on the server (running Fedora Core 5), and can start R from a terminal. However, for a lot of the R scripts I've tried, I get 'font errors' - the general error message

So, I am using MATE from EPEL as my desktop on one of my laptops. The screen saver was working, however the monitors (if connected via a docking station) were not going to sleep even if selected via the GUI mate power manager.
