dns/ad domain provisioning and naming
I'm setting up a bind server as well as a samba domain on a machine
(timcserv03). I initially set the local domain up in bind as
thisismycompany.local (already owning the name thisismycompany.com),
however I started to see that there could be issues with using .local, so
wanted to go in a safer direction. It seems the best logical internal
domain name would be local.thisismycompany.com. Note

IPv6 broken under AIX?
I've tried to get OpenSSH_3.7.1p2 to work over IPv6 under AIX 5.1.0 and
5.2.0 without success. If I configure sshd to listen to an IPv6 address
it will take the uppermost 32 bits of the IPv6 address and interpret it
as an IPv4 address.
sshd_config:
------------
ListenAddress [2001:6b0:b:1::133]
ListenAddress 130.238.4.133
ListenAddress 172.17.1.2

quota support on AIX
Hellow, members
I want to use SAMBA with disk quota support on AIX machine,
but have not succeeded yet. Are there any members who could
succeeded setting up SAMBA on that environment?
OS:AIX4.3.3
SAMBA:2.2.5
configure option:--with-quotas
First, I configured AIX's quota environment, and confirmed quota
worked fine. And I accessed to SAMBA, but disk size displayed

AIX issues
Hello everyone,
I have been given the task of working out a number of issues with
OpenSSH for my company (Hertz).
I have been following the mailing list for several days now and I'm
beginning to compile a list of who is working on what. To make my task
faster, it would nice if the people working on the following issues
would drop me a email before I start to rewrite their code and get it

Dtrace scripts for performance data gathering
I am looking for Dtrace scripts that can be used to
collect data during performance tests. I am especially
interested in IO but CPU, memory, threads, etc are needed
as well.
Thanks,
Dave

AIX & Large File Support Problem (+ Solution)
Hi,
I just wanted to relate the solution to a problem I was having to hopefully
save someone else a day of frustration. I'm using rsync-2.5.5 on AIX 4.3,
compiled with gcc 2.95.3. The file I was sync'ing was very large (>2GB).
Despite being configured with --enable-largefiles (which #defines
_LARGE_FILES properly for AIX), and despite the fact that the initial
transfer of said file

CentOS 5 and seamonkey
Has anyone had any success in rebuilding seamonkey 2.0.4 for CentOS 5
(32-bit)? I'm currently running seamonkey-2.0-1 which I rebuilt last
November. Sadly, I have no idea where the SRPM originated.
I found seamonkey-2.0.4-1.fc12.src.rpm and
seamonkey-2.0.4-1.fc12.src.rpm, downloaded and got to 0th base:

Mediatrix 1102 issue after upgrading to CVS
We just did an upgrade on our Asterisk to the CVS version and our
Mediatrix 1102s stopped working correctly. Our Asterisk is connected to
the PSTN with a PRI. Calls from the PSTN to the Mediatrix 1102 work fine.
The issue is calling out to the PSTN from the 1102. Asterisk looks like
it process the call just fine except there is no talk path. Get this,
though: If you flash hook and then

Mediatrix 1102 / 1104 authentication problems....
Hi!
Has anyone on the board successfully installed a Mediatrix 1102 or 1104 as
a SIP peer on Asterisk?
I'm trying to configure different user accounts on each FXS port, but I'm
having authentication problems; Asterisk is saying the client is not
authorized. Interestingly enough, I can dial a "9" and make a local call
through the Mediatrix.
Thanks!

I think I just fixed that by changing the function to match the new
prototype. Unfortunately I can't currently test it myself. Please

Mediatrix 1102 Problems
We have a Mediatrix 1102 hooked into the network. Both of the attached
analog phones and all of their features work, but in the CLI we keep
getting "-- Got SIP response 481 "Transaction Does Not Exist" back from
XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX " (Where XXX is the IP address of the Mediatrix ) every
few minutes. I have changed most of the settings in the sip.conf
multiple times and have done

AIX and posix_fallocate
Hi,
AIX's implementation of posix_fallocate is a little bit, let me say,
peculiar. Attached is a patch to "fix" (=work around) this.
Without you'll see this in the logs:
Jul 28 01:17:41 trevi mail:err|error dovecot: IMAP(beckerr):
posix_fallocate() failed: File exists
Jul 28 01:17:41 trevi mail:err|error dovecot: IMAP(beckerr):

autoconf check for socklen_t
Here's a configure check to see if socklen_t is defined. Even though my
man pages on linux say accept(2) takes (int *) as it's 3rd arg, the
sys/socket.h files begs to differ.
If not defined (which is doesn't seem to be on AIX 4.2.1), it can be
explicitly typedef'ed to (unsigned int). Now do mainstream code changes
get submitted back to the openbsd group, or would it be better to

LZO versus LZJB
Hi
Some developers here said a long time ago that someone should show
the code for LZO compression support for ZFS before talking about the
next step. I made that code with a friend and we also made a little
benchmark to give a first impression:
http://denisy.dyndns.org/lzo_vs_lzjb/
I hope we made no technical error, but if you find something
not accurate, we will correct it.

AIX patch for openssh-3.7.1p2
There are a couple of bugs in the openssh-3.7.1p2. The aix_setauthdb
function does not work with other types of authentication such as AFS/DFS.
The loginfailed test in configure is not correct. Also, AIX can use the
wtmp logging which I added in configure. Attached is the patch.
Thanks,
Matt Richards
