user creation with samba-tool issue
I am creating a user with samba-tool. I am essentially using the s4user script (very slight mods to echo some data and assign some site-specific data). The syntax in the script for a test user is samba-tool add user test.user47 Passw0rd! The echo'ed output is (including echo of entities that are to be set via ldbmodify) Creating s4 posix user test.user48 User 'test.user48' created

NOTIFYCMD not running
> When you run that command, does "some text" appear in the system log? When I run Documents/scripts/ups-log.py manually I do see the expected text echo'ed to the command line. It actually appends to a Google Sheet, not the internal log files. When I would expect to see it triggered by NOTIFYCMD, I don't see any text printed and nothing shows up at the google sheets. If

Re: use of qemu-kvm --chardev pipe, id=X, path=... argument ?
Aha! Thank you. Yes that does prevent the default stdio console . But no output appears on the input pipe, and outputting to input end has no effect: In one terminal, I do: $ cat /tmp/el6x32.out in the main terminal, I run: $ /usr/libexec/qemu-kvm -M rhel6.4.0 -cpu n270 -smp 1 -hda /home/rpmbuild/OEL6/img/OEL6_32.img -kernel /home/rpmbuild/OEL6/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.39-400.215.14.el6uek.i686 -initrd

ipv6 dialup: "nd6_lookup: failed to lookup" problem (4.8-REL)
Hi all, I try to receive an ipv6 address for my PPP link via autoconf (against Cisco machine), but there is a problem I'm unable to solve so far. I can see cisco's Router-Advertisement containing prefix etc., but no IP adress is assigned to tun0 interface. Anyone succesful in IPv6 over dial-up PPP connection? When I manually assign IPv6 address, connection works. My system is

Ipv6 addr with Vlan-Id - unable to ping neighbour
Hi All, If I have a vlan-Id on an interface with an ipv6 address, then I am unable to ping a real router. The problem is that the Neighbour Solicitation originated from the Centos machine is missing the Vlan-Id in the packet. Therefore a real router will drop such a packet. I have tried this with Centos 4.7 and with Centos 5.5 with the same result. If I originate the first Neighbour

NOTIFYCMD not running
I finally got this working, for the sake of anyone else who comes across this thread with a similar problem: Since NOTIFYCMD was working fine with bash scripts, I had it point to a bash script which I used to call my python script, and I set up the bash script to capture errors and write them to a log file: /etc/nut/ups-log.py > /home/pi/Documents/scripts/mylog 2>&1 I didn't realize

IPv6 literal addresses on command line
Hello all, Can anyone give me a hint on how to specify an IPv6 address in an rsync address literal - the colon character is already used to seperate the host name from the remote directory AFAICT... I get, e.g. rsync -Cavb 3ffe:502:420:120::2:/home/cam/dev/proj 3ffe: Unknown host rsync: connection unexpectedly closed (0 bytes read so far) rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code
