(simplified patch - no config option)
Given that the GSSAPI library will (unconditionally) use DNS anyway,
perhaps we don't need yet another client-side config

I've noted this on the mailing list too, but just for the record,
the simplified patch is incorrect. GSSAPI != Kerberos, and even
within the Kerberos space, some vendors ship with
canonicalisation disabled.
If we are going to ship a workaround for

the original patch written in 2006 was against openbsd cvs, and it
included a config option to turn it on/off (with the default being
off). it largely applied cleanly up through 7.2 until the
get_canonical_hostname refactor.

Apparently, some good Samaritan already made patches compatible with
the current version of OpenSSH. There is a package on the Arch User
Repo (openssh-gssapi 7.1p2-1) that implements them. Here are the
patches themselves:

Not really. Those have a lot of other changes (mostly the GSSAPI key
exchange support) and it still uses get_canonical_hostname() which is
currently not available in the client.

I think this was answered last year in this thread:
https://lists.mindrot.org/pipermail/openssh-unix-dev/2022-May/040285.html
and unfortunately it seems there won't be any merging of the GSSAPI
patch. :-(

Some problems with Heimdal and AFS
Hello,
My first problem is compilation against Heimdal. It does not work because
of the following:
/products/source/heimdal/heimdal-0.5.1/i386_linux24/lib/roken/../../../lib/r
oken/getprogname.c(.text+0xc):
multiple definition of `get_progname'
openbsd-compat//libopenbsd-compat.a(bsd-misc.o)(.text+0x0):/usr1/ahaupt/open
ssh-3.6.1p1/openbsd-compat/bsd-misc.c:

[PATCH] febootstrap-supermin-helper: Replace objcopy call for embedding init binary
objcopy needs "output-target" and "binary-architecture" parameters
which makes it necessary to keep a list of known architectures.
The bin2s.pl script generates input for the GNU assembler which should
produce an object file that is equivalent to that produced by objcopy.
I have successfully tested the change on an amd64 Debian/unstable system.

Inno Setup 6.0.2 fails before creating exe file on Windows (R-3.6.0)
I am working on compiling R-3.6.0 for Windows 10 64bit using rtools40
(beta 11). I had also installed the most recent update of Inno setup,
which is now 6.0.2.With that version, `make risntaller` fails at the
call to ""C:/R/Inno/iscc" R.iss > R-3.6.0.log 2>&1" and just exits,
pointing to line 175 of the makefile which is:
$(RPREFIX)-win.exe: R.iss

[LLVMdev] newbie with pass registering Problem
Hi!!
This is my first time with llvm. I'm still learning and really need help.
I wrote only one Function Pass, which uses another Function Pass (blockNrs), and registered this:
RegisterPass<FunctionAnalysis> X("gasched", "Genom Scheduling Pass");
When I compile my sourcecode, everything was okay. But when I tried to test it, i got this error Message:

[PATCH v2 supermin 0/1] Fix embedding of init
Hi,
this patch replaces the first simpler version:
https://www.redhat.com/archives/libguestfs/2017-August/msg00117.html
The approach now is to use a C snippet, which should pose way less
compatibility issues.
Thanks,
