Solaris + PAM/LDAP + pubkey failing?
I've got a Solaris 8 and 9 box using LDAP to successfully authenticate users.
I can get logged in via ssh using keyboard interactive (via PAM/LDAP). When
I try to use pubkey authentication, both the pubkey as well as the fallback to
keyboard interactive always fail. I've tried openssh versions as early as 3.4
and as new as the 11-06 snapshot with the same behavior. Everything works

When using PAM to do password authenticaion the attempt/failure counter

Solaris 8 x86 rsa pubkey auth problem
Hello,
I got some weird problem with public key authentication using rsa key pair.
Let me first of all explain my setup.
1) I got two Solaris 8 x86 boxes

public key authentication failure
Hello,
I am attempting to make public key authentication to work between
OpenSSH 3.0.2 client on OpenBSD and SSH-1.99-OpenSSH_2.9 FreeBSD
localisations 20011202. From reading sshd -ddd and ssh -v I can't
figure out what goes wrong. Could somebody interpret the attached
typescripts for me, please?
Here's the relevant part from the server log and I don't understand it:

Multiple log entries for successful pubkey authentication
Hi,
I'm wondering if that's planned or just occuring accidentally.
With OpenSSH 4.0 and the upcoming 4.1, I'm getting two entries in syslog
when a pubkey authentication logon was successful:

chaining AUTH methods -- adding GoogleAuthenticator 2nd Factor to pubkey auth? can't get the GA prompt :-/
I added an EXPLICIT
AuthenticationMethods publickey,keyboard-interactive
+ UsePam yes
to sshd_config. Now, at connect attempt I get
Password:
Verification code:
Password:
Verification code:
Password:
...
I.e.,
It's asking for Password, not accepting pubkey
AND
when given the password (which is correct), and the GA VerificationCode, it
simply repeats the credentials request.

OpenSSH 3.6.1p2 +UnixWare 7.1.1 +SSH2 + PasswordAuthentication no + PermitEmptyPasswords yes
Greetings,
I recently discovered a problem with OpenSSH 3.6.1p2 and UnixWare 7.1.1
(as well as OpenServer 5.0.X and SCO 3.2v4.2)
When I set up sshd_config as follows:
PasswordAuthentication no
PermitEmptyPasswords yes
and try to connect to a password less account ( I know its a F*up, but
that's the application ID10Ts .... ) I can get in using the SSH2 version
without a valid key, the

Upgraded to 2.9p1 with no luck..
Howdy,
After upgrading to 2.9 (OpenSSH_2.9p1, SSH protocols 1.5/2.0, OpenSSL
0x0090600f)
I'm unable to ssh between two systems any more (the two that I've upgraded).
I've recompiled from the original source several times, each time with no
errors,
regenerated host keys, regenerated client keys (using rsa), etc., to no
avail.
Below are some relevant snippets of debugging output

Password auth problem with openssh 3.4 and Linux 2.2.20
After upgrading to openssh-3.4p1, password authentication is no longer
working on my system. I'm running Linux RedHat 6.2 with:
kernel 2.2.20
openssh-3.4p1
openssl-0.9.6
pam-0.72-6
pwdb-0.61-0
I've tried it with and without compression, with and without priv sep, and I
always get errors like this:

Converting SSH2 keys for use in OpenSSH
I have a couple of keys generated using the F-Secure SSH2 client. I have converted those keys using "ssh-keygen -i -f samplekey.txt >> ~/.ssh/authorized_keys". When I try and log into the OpenSSH server using those keys, OpenSSH rejects using those keys.
I am under the assumption that this is supposed to work. If I connect using a password, there is no problem. It just does not

redhat 6.1 and openssh 3.1p1
Hi,
I *really* hope this hasn't been fixed before, but I have a problem
which appears to be a bug in openSSH 3.1p1
Basically, it doesn't work...
sshd runs fine, root can log in fine, but a normal user cannot. The
error given to the user is simply 'permission denied'
I'm running a plain vanilla redhat 6.1 (a bit old, I know) with openSSL
as the SSL implementation.

Problem and Patch: Multiple keys in ssh.com V2 agent
Hello!
I recently discoverd a problem with ssh.com's ssh-agent2 and OpenSSH:
If I have more than one key in my agent, then the agent tries to
authenticicate me with every one of them at the OpenSSH server; but none
of them is a valid key for that server. The Problem is that the Server
increments the authctxt->attempt at every of that tries. So even if you
want to login with a password at

SSH2/1 Failure when using bash shell, other shells work
Got a strange problem here. We have OpenSSH 2.3.0p1 running on a variety of
machines and on one particular Redhat 6.2 machine(all patches applied) we
run into a situation where it will not allow us to start a shell when using
bash or bash2. csh and others work fine.
One note...if I enable PermitRootLogin, the user root IS allowed to login
with bash. This is very strange. I'm guessing it
