Managesieve AUTHENTICATE with IDN using UTF-8 or encode into ACE?
Hey dovecot-users,
clients that speak telnet based protocols like http, smtp usually encode
IDN (International Domain Names) containing UTF-8 characters into ACE
(ASCII Compatible Encoding) punycode.
I am wondering what the case was with managesieve (RFC 5804). For
example if I was using a username like "user@???.example.com" with the
AUTHENTICATE command. Would that need to be encoded

Loooooong logon-times using samba 3.5.6 and Windows 7
Dear samba-users
We are experiencing some rather long logon times using SAMBA 3.5.6 on Debian Squeeze + Windows 7 and while trying to find out why we raised the loglevel to 5 resulting in a rather large logfile. But this did give us a hint as to why we experience so long logon times. It seems that samba is going through the whole user-database with all usernames and machine-accounts.

Re: [nut-commits] svn commit r708 - in trunk: . clients server
With the Ipv6 patch (r708), I get:
upsclient.c: In function `upscli_connect':
upsclient.c:469: `AI_ADDRCONFIG' undeclared (first use in this function)
upsclient.c:469: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
upsclient.c:469: for each function it appears in.)
Even if it doesn't break IPv4 support, it may break portability, as
IPv6 seems to require specific functions that are

Hi there,
I have a Redhat 9 server setup as an PDC with samba 2.2.7. Is it
possible to temporarily disable a group of users to login to the PDC or
can it only be done on a per username basis ?
Thanks

compare-dest when DEST contains path component
Hi,
I just noticed that the value of the '--compare-dest' argument is simply
prepended to the DEST argument, even if that has path compnents. For
example with this command:
rsync -a --compare-dest=$comparedest \
remote::something/1/ \
/local/path/to/1/
if the remote 'something' module has a file called '1/2/3/4/file' (which
is going to be mirrored to

isolinux from floppy
Hi,
Is it possible to somehow mix syslinux and isolinux so that I boot from a
floppy disk and then load the kernel+initrd from a CD?
Reading the docs it seems to me that syslinux and isolinux are quite
independent tools, they work differently, the installation method is
different etc... so I'm afraid I'll get a negative answer... but I hope I
won't :-)
Thx,
Egmont

File Modify/Delete Problems with Samba 3.0.14a and Windows XP
Hi,
I recently upgraded from Samba 3.0.7 to Samba 3.0.14a. This is a Debian
Woody box using the packages by Sino[1], running Linux kernel 2.6.11.8
and the XFS filesystem with ACL support disabled.

Hi all,
I have emails with multiple Delivered-To: headers in them. The problem
is that the SEARCH command only searches in the first instances. For
example:

* 14557 FETCH (BODY[HEADER.FIELDS (DELIVERED-TO)] {85}
Delivered-To: pozsy at ojjektum.uhulinux.hu

Patch for rsyncable zlib with new rolling checksum
Hi all-
My test results so far indicate a pretty decent improvement in overall rsync performance when using a slightly more sophisticated checksum calculation.
The attached patch has the required changes (in hindsight, I should have compressed this using zlib with the new algorithm :-) ).
Some things to know about the patch:
First, it is against the zlib library - NOT the gzip application.
