Logging with ForceCommand and SCP
Hello List,
I'am using the ForceCommand in my sshd configuration to log all the user
actions on my device.
ForceCommand /usr/bin/log-session.sh
The Log Session Script itself is working fine for logging.
But now I want also use SCP to copy files and this won't work together
with the ForceCommand above.
The copied file is created but its zero byte on the target.
scp file.tar.gz

scp not shutting down in 2.1.1p4
Hi!
as I just noted, after scp the connection does not shut down properly.
When I do a "scp file targethost:path", on targethost a "sshd" process is
left running. I do use
--with-default-path="/usr/local/openssh/bin:/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin"
to assure, that the corrensponding openssh-scp is used.
It also seems, that normal sessions are not always closed properly.

Using ldap to check last password modification date
Hello,
For a portal I'm working on, I need to know if changing the unicodePwd
attr with LDAP also updates pwdLastSet (so the account doesn't get
locked). It seems the answer is yes, but the value I get from
pwdLastSet is somewhat weird:
pwdLastSet: 130753269490000000
That is Wed, 08 Jun 2011 11:31:34 GMT
Why? Is that epoch or something else? Is there anything else I need to
update when

Using ldap to check last password modification date
Thanks Rowland. That makes sense :-)
BTW, Is the following code enough to change the password with python-ldap?
con.sasl_interactive_bind_s("", sasl_auth)
mod_attrs = [
(ldap.MOD_REPLACE, 'unicodePwd', new_password),
(ldap.MOD_REPLACE, 'unicodePwd', new_password)
]
con.modify_s('CN=%s,CN=Users,DC=lxc,DC=com % username, mod_attrs)
Thanks!

[PATCH] Have xen dom0 still handle time of 1970
It''s come to our attention, that the time gets screwed up when set
between EPOCH and EPOCH + uptime. This may not seem important (because
we don''t live in the 70s anymore) but it makes LTP fail. LTP has a date
test that checks what happens when set to EPOCH + 100 secs + 100 nsecs,
and makes sure that it gets a proper result.
The following patches helps xen handle the case

Date Format
Hi everybody,
I need your precious help for, I think, a simple request, but I do not manage to solve this.
When I use a "table" function with dates in the rows, the rows are coerced to number after the table function.
So I need to transform the row names into date format. But I do not manage.
Therefore, for an example, I manage to write this :
datetest<-"06/01/2001"

Convert date to decimal days
Hello all,
I have a quick question about formatting date strings..
I am currently debugging some Matlab code someone else wrote and since it is
so bad that I have to go through it line by line I figured that I would just
rewrite the thing in R.
The code produces plots of wave spectra with decimal days since the Epoch as
the x axis and wave period as the Y axis. I am able to convert the date

storing SOM epoch in EA
Good day,
some time ago we discussed that it would be very helpful to
store epoch in inode on mds. the perfect solution could be
to store epoch in old inode body, but there is no much space
for this in the body and with DMU we''ll have this problem
again.
given the minimal inode size we use on MDS is 512 bytes, we
can store upto 13 stripes in the body. larger EAs go to a
dedicated block.

STRFTIME function declared in globals context
I'm trying to declare a few date-related global variables to ease my
dialplan. When I declare the following in the [globals] context of
extensions.conf, I get unexpected results:
YEAR = ${STRFTIME(${EPOCH},,%Y)}
MONTH = ${STRFTIME(${EPOCH},,%m)}
DAY = ${STRFTIME(${EPOCH},,%d)}
TIMESTAMP = ${STRFTIME(${EPOCH},,%Y%m%d-%H%M%S)}
If I evaluate these variables in the dialplan later, using

ganesha error ?
Hi,
I got these errors 3 times since I'm testing gluster with nfs-ganesha. The clients are php apps and when this happen, clients got strange php session error. Below, the first error only happen once but other errors happen every time a clients try to create a new session file. To make php apps work again, I had to restart the client. Do you have an idea of what's happening here ?

scp and Solaris ACLs
Has anyone had a problem with scp not retaining ACLs set on the original
file under Solaris 8? When I have a file that has ACLs set and I use scp
or rsync -e ssh to copy the file (local->local or local->remote) the ACLs
are gone from the copied file(s). Is this a known issue or am I just
missing something (a flag for instance) when performing the copy? Thanks
in advance for your help.

scp bug: newly created dirs do not inherit sgid bit
Dear developers,
I discovered that directories created by scp when recursive
copying into a sgid directory do not inherit the sgid bit. I believe
this is a bug. A patch to fix this is attached.

Petr Skovron

[PATCH] v2v: Fix kernel disambiguation by dropping Epoch field (RHBZ#1669395).
When detecting kernels we have to list the files in the package to
find the right /boot/vmlinuz file.
In virt-v2v 1.28 we ran:
rpm -ql kernel
Because multiple kernels can be installed this gave incorrect results,
which was reported in RHBZ#1161250 and initially fixed in
commit 377bc302f11db3da4263f894c76a7d280fb25dbd. This changed the
command to:
rpm -ql [epoch:]kernel-version.release
