[Bug 585] sshd core dumping on IRIX 6.5.18 with VerifyReverseMapping enabled
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=585
------- Additional Comments From dtucker at zip.com.au 2003-07-07 00:32 -------
dmalloc (http://dmalloc.com/) claims to work on IRIX. It's likely to increase
the CPU and memory load, though.
I've built with dmalloc on Linux thusly:
LDFLAGS=-ldmalloc ./configure && make
eval `dmalloc -l /path/to/log high`
./sshd [options]

suggestion: saving old binaries during installation
Just as a suggestion, I liked the way the ssh.com's ssh would move the
old binaries to filename.old then install the new ones....so that way
you have an old copy to revert back to if needed (without copying them
all by hand).

with-tcp-wrappers enable ?
Hello,
I try to compile openssh-2.9p1 on a SGI Origin 200 computer under IRIX
6.5 with the option --with-tcp-wrappers enable. I have also compiled
tcp-wrapper and have installed the library libwrap.a in /usr/lib and the
file tcpd.h in /usr/include.
When i run the ./configure script i have a error. The script asked me
that the libwrap is missing.
How can i resolve this ?
Thanks.
Bests Regards

Expired password handling in openssh-2.5.1p1/2
Are there plans, or does someone have a fix, for having openssh force
users to change passwords when they're expired?
Right now the program closes the connection....the commercial ssh
manages to exec /bin/passwd after they enter their current password.
Any ideas?

What's the status of this?
At the moment, my understanding is:
* a bug exists in getaddrinfo in IRIX 6.5.18 and up
* defining BROKEN_GETADDRINFO causes a type clash with gai_strerror
* solving the type clash results in an sshd that works OK

OpenSSH 3.7.1p2 with OpenSSL 0.9.7c installation on HP-UX 11.0 enquiry?
Dear All,
I can install OpenSSH 3.7.1p2 with OpenSSL 0.9.7c on HP-UX 11.0 without
problem.
However, I find that all valid accounts are treated as "locked" (even
specify "AllowUsers USER1" in sshd_config) and can't make SSH connection to
the server.
Here is the message shown in syslog.log.

F-secure v1 client has trouble connecting to openssh-2.5.1p1
I'm observing that mac clients using F-Secure ssh v1 client log into the
ssh server, and then the client just hangs with nothing on the screen.
In the SYSLOG file, I see this:
Accepted password for user from host port whatever

openssh-3.8p1 fails to set TZ environment variable bug
Found on while running on IRIX 6.5.22f, sshd from openssh-3.8p1 nukes
its envrionment in main(), causing sshd to loose track of the TZ
environment variable passed to it by the system. This means that inside
do_setup_env(), the call to getenv("TZ") will never succeed, despite the
fact that this variable should have a value.

3.8p1 not honoring TZ environment variable
Hello,
I just built openssh 3.8p1 on an HP-UX 11i machine. All looks well
except for the timezone. I'm noticing now that when it logs stuff to
syslog, it's off by 2 hours for me. What I've figured is this:
My timezone is MST7MDT (mountain time).
The timezone in /etc/default/tz is EST5EDT (eastern time).
There's a 2 hour difference between mountain & eastern time.

as.POSIXct Bug when used with POSIXlt arg and tz= arg (PR#3646)
Tracking down this bug was joint work with Jermoe Asselin (jerome at
hivnet.ubc.ca) and Patrick Connolly (p.connolly at hortresearch.co.nz). We
collectively were able to determine that this is a problem in both Windows 2000
and in Linux and by testing it in our three time zones that it seems to be
daylight savings time related.
Conversion of POSIXlt datetimes to POSIXct appears to have problems.

Does strptime(...,tz="GMT") do anything?
Hi All
In trying to correlate some tide gauge data I need to deal with varying
timezones. From the documentation on strptime, it seemed that the tz
variable might have some effect on the conversion, but I'm not seeing an
effect.

sshd crashing on IRIX (3.6.1p1)
Occasionally, we're noticing that sshd is core dumping on our IRIX
6.5.18f machine.
The only time we've really noticed it is when users are logging in with
putty from offsite (although I'm not really sure it's a client issue).
The user manages to log in, sshd apparently core dumps, but the user is
not logged out, the privilege separated user is still running their own
