I have Acts_As_Taggable Plugin working. I have a HR controller and a
sales controller.
I have a document in hr tagged whitepaper and a differnent document in

when I am in hr I see the hr document tagged with whitepaper and not
the sale document (what I want). but if I click on the tag whitepaper
I return two documents, hr and sales. I just want to return the hr

disk mounting madness
I've got a server running CentOS 4.2; installed as 4.1, kept updated by
yum.
A few days ago it crashed.
I picked it up from the datacenter, and brought it back to the office,
where it took a long time to boot because it couldn't find anything.
When it finally booted and I logged in I discovered an interesting
problem.
Only the / partition had loaded. /etc/fstab had all the

install won't boot
Circumstances:
The system is a hardware duplicate of a system that installed and works
for many months. Running CentOS 4.x.
The system was previously in service with CentOS 3.x and I'm trying to
install CentOS 4.1 on it from downloaded CDs which have worked
previously (these are the same CDs used to install the system that's
working).

ftp daemon problem
New install of CentOS 4.1; our first try at the 4.x.
On previous 3.x installs we've used proftpd.
On this one we're using (trying to use is a better statement of what
we're going through) the default daemon, /usr/sbin/vsftpd.
But we don't get anywhere.

Yum problem CentOS 3.3?
I''m still using CentOS 3.3 as our install mechanism, then adding some
packages from a tarball of RPMs we need.
Then I run
# yum update yum
which sometimes takes a while.
Yesterday it took many hours. I like to run these from behind a
firewall in our office before taking the server to the datacenter, but
the delay meant a whole day''s delay in our trip to the datacenter

Website running slow and Timing Out, but at random...
I have a site running the current version of Centos 4.2, it has a
shopping cart running on it and runs slow and times out at random. The
cart is a simple php package using a MySQL database backend.
Can any one think of ways to improve the speed in MySQL and Apache, I've
had the cart checked by the software vendor, it's working like it
should, they are pointing to MySQL or Apache and

LBX Support : Where to start
I would like to put a patch in OpenSSH start lbxproxy on the server if
both ends of the connection support LBX. I'm having difficulty figuring
out where to put this code, specifically I can't seem to find where the
X11 handshaking happens. Could someone help me out on this??

glht with a glm using a Gamma distribution
Quick question about the usage of glht. I'm working with a data set
from an experiment where the response is bounded at 0 whose variance
increases with the mean, and is continuous. A Gamma error
distribution with a log link seemed like the logical choice, and so
I've modeled it as such.
However, when I use glht to look for differences between groups, I get

Upgrading Server Motherboard
I have a server running CentOS 4.2 that works as a web/email with very
heavy load. It runs Directadmin web gui which is like Cpanel. It
runs on a cheapy mATX motherboard(ECS 741GX-M) with socket A 2800+ CPU
and 2Gbyte DDR. The OS and data are on a 300Gbyte PATA maxtor drive
and data backups are run weekly to another PATA drive. The server is
overwelmed and data backups take over 5 hours to

What kind of performance can I expect on this setup...
Running Samba 2.2.8a as a PDC, which will service about 40 people.(grow to
about 60-70 by end of the year)
They will also be accessing shares on the server from a program.
Server is:
Xeon 2.8ghz
2gigs of RAM
3 320 SCSI 36 gig drives: setup in RAID 5 with 70 gigs of room
Running on RH 7.3
Swap is 2048 (Was highest I could set it for 7.3)
Anyone wanna take a gander and tell me what to expect?

[patch] Raw sockets in jails
Although RAW sockets can be used when specifying the source
address of packets (defeating one of the aspects of the jail)
some people may find it usefull to use utilities like ping(8)
or traceroute(8) from inside jails.
Enclosed is a patch I have written which gives you the option
of allowing prison-root to create raw sockets inside the prison,

CentOS for commercial use
I'm a home user of CentOS (a desktop and a laptop) because I like the
quality of the product and I love the cost. I'm a great believer in
FOSS.
That being said, I know that some of you use CentOS for production
servers and (perhaps?) desktops as well. I've read at leat one comment
like "I have 20 CentOS servers."
My employer is a firm believer in RHEL - license costs are

Good afternoon (as appropriate ; )
I''m having a problem and thought I''d run it past these forums to see if
there even was a reasonable solution to it.
I''m trying to set up a rails application to pull data from a legacy
database. The trick is, that the database really wasn''t created with
RoR convention over configuration in mind. The trick is that every

rails naming convention for model: community
Hello,
How does Rails deal with the pluralization of community. I have "community"
as my model name. Will Rails automatically look for a table name
"communities" or do I have to name the table "communitys"?
Thanks.
