Question about -b mode of sftp(1) and auto-chdir behaviour
Hello,
i'm curious to know wether the automatic chdir behaviour of sftp(1)
in batch mode is a side-effect of the current implementation, or
if it's instead a regular feature. And, if it's indeed the latter,
wether there is any compatibility problem if one would actually
rely on it?
I'll attach a copy+paste diff to document this nice feature in
sftp.1, just for the hoped-for case.

sftp quote parsing broken in OpenSSH 3.7.1 portable
In 3.7.1 portable, sftp no longer correctly parses filenames enclosed
in quotation marks. Below is an short transcript describing the bug.

patch: readline support for sftp
Hello,
I hope this is the right place to post this.
I added readline support to the sftp client. It adds optional
--with-readline parameter for configure to enable this feature. You'll
of course need to re-run autoheader and autoconf after applying this
patch.
It's patched against 3.4p1 but should work with any recent openssh. It
works fine for me (GNU/Linux) - feel free to test it and

OPIE patch for current CVS
I redid my previous OPIE patch for the current ssh tree. It seems
to work fine here, and I'ld love to see it merged before the 3.0
release.

[PATCH] tis authserv support
Hi,
We at BalaBit IT Security Ltd developed a patch against openssh 2.3.0p1 to
support TIS authserv authentication. TIS authserv uses a simple protocol,
and supports CryptoCard, SKey, password etc. authentication.
The commercial versions of SSH support this protocol, OpenSSH implemented
SKey on its own using the protocol primitives originally invented for TIS
authentication.
Our patch is an

cross compilation?
../openssh-3.1p1/configure --host=mips-linux --build=i686-linux --with-pam
does not work.
It selects the correct toolchain prefix, but the configure script bails
on cross-compilation.
Attached is a patch that *might* make the right paranoid assumptions,
but I am not positive.

SFTP subsystem and umask
Hello,
I have noticed that the -u parameter to the sftp-server or internal-sftp subsystem is not working correctly. For openssh-5.6p1 I believe that the problem lies in this code, starting at line 1414 in sftp-server.c:
----------------------------------------------------------
case 'u':
mask = (mode_t)strtonum(optarg, 0, 0777, &errmsg);
if (errmsg != NULL)

SFTP seems to require the public key file - why?
We migrated a server a few days ago, and the private keys we use to connect
to customers got moved as well. However, some of our automated sftp batches
were failing with authentication errors. Looking into the verbose output, I
noticed that even though ~/.ssh/config is explicitly configured to use a
specific identity file, sftp was presenting every key known to the
ssh-agent, in order. This

enable sftp subsystem for each authorized key
Hi,
I have been looking for info in the mail archive, but I haven't found
anything about this: is there any way to select which keys are
authorized to use de sftp subsystem and which ones not?
It means, if I include the sftp-server subsystem in the sshd
configuration file, it is available to everyone, isn't?
Thanks in advance for your time!

openssh2.3.0p1 and /etc/limits
Hi!
I wrote a small patch to enable /etc/limits support in openssh. nice
thing when you don't have PAM installed..
It is based on Ultor's openssh 1.x patch
(http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=secure-shell&m=96427677022741&w=2)
Works fine on slackware7.1. define USE_ETC_LIMITS in config.h , and
compile as usual.
