OpenSSH and Redhat 8
John, The following steps should work for you (or anyone buildling on a RedHat box): 1) Get the official OpenSSH source RPM from ftp://ftp.openbsd.org/pub/OpenBSD/OpenSSH/portable/rpm/SRPMS/openssh-3.7.1p2-1.src.rpm 2) Do 'rpmbuild --rebuild ./openssh-3.7.1p2-1.src.rpm' from where you saved the file. 3) This should create the following files in /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i386:

How to downgrade gtk2 libs in CentOS 6.8?
Hi all. I'm using a CentOS 6.8 VM to do volunteer builds for an open source project. I want to build Pale Moon with a gtk2 library older than 2.24, to allow people with older linuxes to run it. Short summary, if built against version gtk2-2.24 and/or higher, the binary will use a function that does not exist in gtk2-2.23 and lower. Net result is that the program dies with an

Upgrade GTK2 from 2.10 to 2.12 ?
Hi, I'm using CentOS 5.3 on all my desktops, and I really like it. Now I'd like to build a few additional apps that aren't included in any third party repo. Some of them require GTK2 2.12 to build, so I'm considering a (careful) upgrade of this package. General question: 1) how "safe" is it to upgrade this package? To do so, I'd use an SRPM from Fedora. 2) What

Fedora FC1 RPMs
I've spent the morning looking at making some RPMs for Fedora Core 1 and run into a problem with GSSAPI. Basically the default install of Fedora doesn't come with the necessary gssapi code to build the RPMs by default (i.e. you need to say %define kerberos5 0 in openssh.spec). Since Fedora is going to fork off from RedHat I was going to create a set of patches to make a

Problems with installing perl-Gtk2 from kbsingh repros
I need perl-Gtk2 for TinyCA2. I find it on centos.karan.org After many misteps, I add bout kbsingh-Centos-Extras.repro and kbsingh-Centos-Misc.repro to /etc/yum.repro.d I do a yum install perl-Glib and it finally goes, adding perl-ExtUtils and warning me about user mockbuild does not exist. Then I try install perl-Gtk2 and it fails: yum install perl-Gtk2 Setting up Install Process Setting
