Circular preprocessor define with MSVC
Hi, in include/share/alloc.h there is this section: #ifndef SIZE_MAX # ifndef SIZE_T_MAX # ifdef _MSC_VER # define SIZE_T_MAX SIZE_MAX # else # error # endif # endif # define SIZE_MAX SIZE_T_MAX #endif So, if we are on MSVC and have neither SIZE_MAX nor SIZE_T_MAX, we'll define SIZE_T_MAX to mean SIZE_MAX and SIZE_MAX to mean SIZE_T_MAX. I'm afraid this won't work ... It

MinGW Patch
Hello, I was trying to compile Flac on MinGW/Msys but got an error stating SIZE_T_MAX is undefined. To fix this error I edited the file "flac-1.2.1/include/share/alloc.h" and made the following change: Starting at line #36 I changed: #ifndef SIZE_MAX # ifndef SIZE_T_MAX # ifdef _MSC_VER # define SIZE_T_MAX UINT_MAX # else # error # endif # endif # define SIZE_MAX SIZE_T_MAX

Solaris 7 w/ current CVS.
Not sure about any other version, but I know sol7 lacks SIZE_T_MAX which we are now using in -current. OpenBSD defines it as ULONG_MAX. Pawing through the Solaris /usr/include it stated it could be 'u_int' or 'u_long'. Depends on if your are compiling legacy stuff. I'm sure other OSes may encounter this issue (not tried Linux, but Redhat 7.x does not define it), but what

Build issues and fixes
I've been putting some work into building Libflac into a game engine I'm working on. I ran into a few small issues in the process, and was able to fix them, so I thought I'd post with my fixes. These aren't generally applicable - I'm taking a "shortest path to functionality" approach - but with a little work could probably be turned into general patches. First,

Compiling - Win - GNU Compiler
Hi, I went in big trouble compiling Flac (Windows). With configure (msys and mingw32-make 4.5.2) I didn't have success to compile. Makefile.lite the same. I used also the patches for SIZE_T_MAX UINT_MAX . Then I could compile every (!) project in flac with MSVC 2008 and I got all libraries, *.dll and *.exe. The libraries are passing all test-programs. With my own tools I see the *.dlls

Patches for building of flac 1.2.1
Hello, We use two different patches to build flac. The first one is a patch that detects correctly ranlib, ac, strip when you cross-compile. We especially use the patch when compiling for Windows under GNU/Linux. http://trac.videolan.org/vlc/browser/trunk/extras/contrib/src/Patches/flac-cross.patch The other one fixes an issue when compiling for Windows under Cygwin, that can't find

2.2.0p1 PATCH: ssh/scp/slogin will invoke ssh-askpass
Enclosed is a patch against 2.2.0p1 that teaches ssh (and therefore slogin and scp) how to invoke ssh-askpass to request a password, RSA/DSA key passphrase, or an skey challenge response. I've tested this on Linux (i386), for passwords and RSA/DSA key passphrases. I cannot easily test whether the Right Thing will happen for skey challenge responses; I would appreciate it if someone who uses

SunOS 4.x port
This is based on openssh-2.0.0beta1. There are a few rough spots: 1) SunOS doesn't have ut_type in struct utmp so I just whacked in the old login() from openssh-1.2.3. 2) There is a SUNOS4 section added to defines.h -- this could probably be a bit cleaner. 3) sigaction on SunOS is implemented via #defines to sigvec, thus there is no SA_RESTART (this is the default behavior).

[LLVMdev] [cfe-dev] [PATCH] Windows improvements
Hello Erik, Thank you to work. I have not checked to build them, though, I can tell you some comments, excuse me. * General - Please post patches to cfe-commits and to llvm-commits, too. (IMHO it would not be needed to split articles apart each lists as long as each would be related.) - If you can, please attach files w/o CRLF(dos encodings), or with attached text/plain. - You may

Patch to OpenSSH-3.4p1/monitor_mm.c for Linux 2.0
I had to modify the file monitor_mm.c to get the privledge separation to work for Linux 2.0.36 (and above) and am passing on the patch to you; if there is a better place to send this, please let me know. I've included a new #define (USE_MMAP_DEV_ZERO) to select this patch, but am not including the patch to config.h---if there's a better name for it, please, by all means, change it.

Linux 2.2 + borken mmap() round 1
The following is just a simple 'if ANON|SHARE is broken, disable compression'. We don't have time for fancy stuff until we have time for long term testing. I have one friend of mine testing this. Can I get a few other people to test. This is against --current, but maybe work against 3.3p1. Unsure. BTW.. those on NeXT platform (if you have autoreconf) should also test this. this

[Bug 259] UsePrivilegeSeparation crashed sshd under Linux 2.2
http://bugzilla.mindrot.org/show_bug.cgi?id=259 ------- Additional Comments From Al.Smith at gold.net 2002-06-25 18:09 ------- Linux 2.2 defines MAP_ANON in <bits/mman.h>, however it can seen in /usr/src/linux/mm/mmap.c (lines 200 onwards) that if MAP_ANON is used then the system call will return -EINVAL. The following is a quick hack to get openssh to compile on linux 2.2: diff -ur
