astcc with multiple access
I'm looking at astcc and it seems that setting up a script that will allow multiple people to access a calling card simultaneously would be fairly difficult. Before I endevour to develop this, has anyone already done it/looked at this/can point me in the right direction? Thanks. -- Mike Nugent <asterisk@illuminatus.org>

Probability of exceedance function question
I'm trying to calculate a cumulative area distribution (graph) of drainage areas. This is defined as P(A > A*). Simple in principle. I can do this in excel, with "COUNTIF", which will count the number of cells in the row "area" that have area A, then determine, for each cell in the row "area, how many cells exceede that area, then dividing that number by the total

sslcertificates module for debian and darwin
Hey all, i have attached a module which installs SSL-Root-certificates in Debian and Darwin. One thing is left to do for darwin: check whether the certificate is installed already. Until I have figured out how to do this, The test is rather simple. There is a class called dfncertificates defined in this module which gives you a hint how the module is used. Have fun, comments are welcome. udo.

CentOS 6, mptfusion software?
Hi, folks, Got an older Dell R410, with an LSI 1068E PCI-Express Fusion-MPT SAS (rev 08). It *appears* that a) trying MegaRaid, and b) from what I'm googling, that what I need are mptfusion-related packages. Unfortunately, yum shows me nothing available in base, epel, or rpmfusion. Am I looking for the wrong thing, or does anyone have a source (no, I haven't looked at LSI, sorry

omega issues/notes
All, I've run into a couple of things using omega/omindex under cygwin. I don't think I'd attribute them to xapian, omega or omindex, but wanted to get them out to the list so that if anyone else should run into these things down the road, hopefully someone will remember and be able to help. 1) after compiling and building omega, and doing make install, I get a set violation when

samba3 to samba3 domain membership failing
Hi, I'm attempting to make a Samba 3.0.10 fileserver become a domain member of a Samba 3.0.7 server which is running as a PDC. I'm using the instructions gained from here... http://samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba-HOWTO-Collection/domain-member.html#id2538809 ...but when running the command... net rpc join -S PDCNAME -UAdministrator%password I get the error... xgobi vs ggobi
Hi Folks, I'm at the point where I'd normally install xgobi (which I've used and found very useful), but there is the alternative of ggobi (now at version 0.9). Would anyone with experience of both care to indicate the merits of either relative to the other? The other thing I can't make out too clearly from the ggobu website is quite what's involved in choosing between the

Error with rgl loading in BATCH mode
Dear all, I'm trying to run a script that requires KernSmooth in BATCH mode but I get an error while loading rgl library that is needed by KernSmooth. Actually I have to run several batch files through a queue of a cluster, so I wouldn't need graphics at all. I installed the latest releases of R (2.6.1) and rgl on my CentOS 4.2 Linux (clone of Red Hat EL) endowed with Rocks 4.2.1 suite

Is "ChanIsAvail" thread safe?
Curious whether the ChanIsAvail command is thread safe. By that I mean, if I use ChanIsAvail to determine which channel to use, can I be sure that it will still be available when I go to Dial it on the next line? It occurs to me that there's a possibility the channel could get used by a competing thread AFTER my thread has determined it is available and BEFORE my thread gets a chance to

Asterisk in Production
I was reading on the wiki different possibilities of automatically restarting asterisk every so often. In some places, people mention they restart it once a day other on shorter or longer intervals. I believe the main reason people are doing this is because of possible memory leaks. I'm running a system for IVR services. It's not a heavily loaded box, but there is almost always

Modules, modules, everywhere
Hello folks, At Stanford, we use modules to define every possible service, package, feature in the traditional sense (apache, ntp, iptables, etc). Then, for clients (such as other departments) and "services" (such as our mailman infrastructure, our ldap infrastructure, etc), we use manifests in /master/manifests and distributable files in /dist/ and templates in /master/templates.

Samba 3.0.1 ADS/Kerberos problems relating to Win2k/xp browsing to samba server
Hello All, I've been discovering the joys of Samba/ADS integration here (the environment is a chip design concern that has chip simulation tools, many of which run in Linux, but some of which only run in Windows. Winbind, and a Linux based NAS server are the cornerstone through which Windows and Linux elements of the toolchain will be able to seamlessly communicate, once we get all the

vector finalizers
Dear R Devel, In a thread this morning Luke Tierney mentioned that R's way of garbage collecting is going to change soon in 3.4.0. I couldn't find this info on Google but I wanted to share what I had been discussing in another forum, in case now is not too late to raise considerations which could affect the design of planned changes to R's garbage collection facilities. I ran into a

Redundancy in samba
Hi. I'm new to samba, so I don't know many things. I have a big infrastructure based on kerberos, ldap and afs. All our linux clients log nicely on the cell, no problem. The problem is as everywhere... windows. I'm trying to make windows log on the cell, using samba (I will try tomorrow to set up a domain). The questions about samba will come later on, so expect me to bother you :)

Conditional exec
I am trying to write a definition that downloads and extracts a tar file if the destination directory does not exist. The tar file won''t change and does not need to be download and extracted if it changes. The definition I am using now is: define remote_tar($source, $directory) { remotefile { "/tmp/$name.tgz": source => $source, } exec {
