Zaptel and 2.6.9-34.0.1.EL Kernel on CentOS
Has anyone been able to compile Zaptel after upgrading to 2.6.9-34.0.1.ELkernel? I'm running CentOS and was unable to recompile Zaptel. I reverted back to 2.6.9-22.0.1.EL but even then Zaptel would fail to load. I tried pulling the latest zaptel sources from digium cvs, but they apparently don't have a record in dns for cvs.digium.com. I did download zaptel-1.2.5.tar.gzand recompiled then

list of kernel patches --- where?
Traditionally, I've needed to compile my own kernel for my embedded headless systems. Traditionally, I've been on RH7.3; kernel source came with the distro. Now I'm looking at Centos 4.2 as my base, and two question arise 1: Where is the kernel source (I can hunt it down again, just wanting to know if anybody has a link to it they can paste please) 2: What are the patches applied to

I installed Centos 4.1 and everything was fine running kernel-smp-2.6.9-11.EL. However when I upated to Centos 4.2 I have run into problems. Namely after a finite amount of disk traffic the system

UP vs SMP kernel ?
There was a discussion here several days ago that was precipitated by my decision to manually install the new kernel before YUMming the upgrade to CentOS 4.2. The upgrade went south but I recovered by doing a fresh install and a bunch of copying from backups. All's well EXCEPT that I'm back in the same "box", thanks to anaconda. I set out to upgrade kernels this morning:

Will there be a matching DRBD kernel module package for the latest kernel that is in the updates repository? The kernel version in the updates is: kernel-smp-2.6.9-34.0.1.EL.i686.rpm but I don't see a matching DRBD module in updates. Thanks, Steve

Kernel downgrade?
Hi list! I've been bitten by a bug in the latest kernel 2.6.9-34.EL and I already removed the old kernel. Are old kernels retained at any place? I need to go back to 2.6.9-22.02 but where can I find it? In the Centos 4.3 directory I find only the latest kernel, not the older ones? Thanks!!

Default 4.4 kernel and NTFS?
I just installed Centos 4.4 and performed a Yum update to freshen all out-of-date files. I also have two IDE drives that are NTFS partitioned, but noticed they are not seen by the kernel. I visit /usr/src/kernels/2.6.9-42.EL-i686 and copy the Makefile.bak to Makefile and run make xconfig. Reviewing the supported filesystems, ntfs is not selected. Any reason why not? What is the easiest and

kernel-devel: compile MPP/RDAC kernel module
Hi Centos Users I am running Centos 4.6 wit latest updates. For I/O multipathing I need to use kernel 2.6.9-55 (IBM support matrix). Trying to compile Engenio Linux RDAC Driver[0] I fail to install kernel-devel for this exact kernel (with up2date). Up2date always installs the newest. # make clean make V=1 -C/lib/modules/2.6.9-55.ELsmp/build M=/root/tmp/linuxrdac-09.02.B5.15

GFS-kernel module - Version Magic Error
Are the RPMs for the latest GFS kernel module GFS-kernel-2.6.9-72.2.0.8 to be used with the version 2.6.9-55.0.9.EL available ? I tried to compile the Source RPMs available from the Red Hat site but the modules can't be loaded because of invalid module format arising from version magic issues. The syslog shows: node0 kernel: gfs: version magic '2.6.9-55.0.9.ELsmp SMP 686 REGPARM

Kernel-upgrade breaks forcedeth-driver (CentOS 4)
Hi all, Same system as my previous mail - Asus P5N32-E SLI motherboards, CentOS 4 x86_64. The kernel-supplied forcedeth driver works in kernel-smp-2.6.9-55.0.9.EL (both with and without acpi=off), but after upgrading to kernel-smp-2.6.9-67.0.4.EL, networking does not start. After trying dhcp, ifconfig reports 17 dropped TX packets (all other counters are empty). Ethtool reports the same

[CSL #301925] centosplus kernel xfs patches and CVE-2006-1855
Hi All, we've run into a problem with the xfs component in the centosplus kernel (2.6.9-34.106.unsupportedsmp) where synchronous writes sometimes fail with EAGAIN. It's causing headaches for DB2 installs and for our database research group. There is a fix reported at: http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=linux-xfs&m=110808122904352&w=2 ...that's supposed to take care of

Modules installed in the wrong directory
I did a yum install of modules from the CentOS-csgfs repository (GFS-kernel, cman-kernel, etc). Modprobe does not find the modules. Upon investigation, I found that modprobe is looking in: /lib/modules/2.6.9-22.0.1.ELsmp/ while the package files were installed to: /lib/modules/2.6.9-22.0.1.EL/ Can I tell modprobe to use those modules somehow? Are modules for the smp kernel available? Or do I

Unsupported Kernel for X86_64 and i386
All, There have been many requests for added kernel features that the upstream provider left out of the standard kernel. (ReiserFS, Video4Linux, Firewire support, XFS, NTFS, JFS, etc.). We want the main release CDs to contain a standard kernel for compatibility and stability reasons. CentOS is created as a clone, and it needs to be as close as possible to the upstream distro. That being said,

Question about running a CentOS4.8 (32-bit) guest under CentOS5.4xen (64-bit)
I am trying to run my old CentOS4.8 (32-bit) system as a guest system under CentOS5.4xen (64-bit). Three kernel RPMs at same time and yum error: "sem_post: Invalid argument"
Greetings, I just ran "yum update" on a remote 4.2 Centos install. Then I typed "yum search some package" and got this error message repeating continuously: sem_post: Invalid argument A search for this message revealed only these links: http://www.linode.com/forums/archive/o_t/t_1898/centos4_installations_rpm_database_corruption.html http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=1202

Centos kernel 34 vs. 42?
Hi list! I read the trixbox anouncement that they downgraded to kernel version 34 to get rid of some audio problems I'm not running trixbox but normal Centos 4 with asterisk installed. I tried to find some further info on this but couldn't find any. Do audio problems occur with normal Centos and the latest kernel version too? (In other words, should every centos user downgrade??)
