Cannot Authenticate to Samba Shares after switching laptop from wired to wireless nic.
I have a laptop that I need to be able to connect to my samba shares with
its wired connection and its wireless connection. It works fine when
connecting from the wired ethernet connection but it stops working once I
disable the wired connection and connect to the wireless network (both
networks are on the same subnet). The IP address for the wired connection is

Bonding wired and wireless ifaces
Hello all,
I'm wondering if there's any interest in trying to bond em1 and eth0
(respectively wired and wireless interfaces here), and if any, how to
do it in CentOS6.
I've found this, which could possibly help (but I'm failing yet):

Both are dealing w/ ifenslave.

Speed/lockup problems with wireless client
Hi,
I have samba running on a home LAN using a Linksys mixed wired (100 Mbit
ethernet) & wireless access point, which also does NAT to a DSL modem. The
server is connected to this access point via an ethernet cable. Clients can
connect via wireless or wired network connection.
I am using encrypted passwords, and have in smb.conf:
socket options = TCP_NODELAY SO_RCVBUF=4096

IPX works via wired network, not via wireless
Hi All,
I have installed Atomic Bomberman as described here:
https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Atomic_bomberman
When I connect 2 PC's running linux via networkcables and a switch, IPX works perfectly. I start the game on both PC's, set PC A to "Start Network game" via IPX, and PC B to "Join network game". Now PC B can see the game of PC A, connect to it, and then

802.1x support in wired sip hardphones ?
Hi,
Is anyone aware of a wired sip hardphone supporting 802.1x authentication ?
I've been told some Avaya and Alcatel ip phones supported 802.1x.
As 802.1x is widely used with wireless hardphones, I'm wondering whether or
not, 802.1x could also be valuable for wired environments.

tinc to secure a wireless network
Hi all and greetings from Australia,
I am looking at a suitable VPN to secure a wireless notebook hanging off
a private, wired network.
Is tinc suitable for this?
specifics:
"notebook" 192.168.205.63
"AProuter" (access point/computer that the notebook will connect to):

What numbers should I give to the various nodes?
At this stage, only one notebook VPN:ed

Cannot get Centrino N 6200 wireless NIC to work Cento 6.4
I installed Centos 6.4 on my laptop and neither of the network interfaces
will work. When I boot up to windows both the wired and the wireless
network interfaces work. I have attached dmesg output for the wireless
card. Reading through the messages it appears that OS cannot talk to the
NIC.

Wireless connectivity issues
Hello,
I cannot establish Xserver connection via wireless subnet, while telnet is
working fine. There was a similar problem before in Shorewall over IPSEC
that Tom had fixed. Also, ping is working, but traceroute is not. Finally,
PuTTY gets a connectivity error after couple minutes of inactivity over
wireless when connected to the firewall/gateway.
Wireless is configured per instructions in

Wireless Lan and icecast
Is there any issues with running icecast on a wireless lan. My friend has the encoder on 1 machine and is feeding it to icecast over a wireless nic to another machine which is connected to a router via a wired NIC but after the feeds been on for awhile it starts buffering.

You might be able to round-robin your outgoing packets, but without
support on the upstream switch, you won't improve your inbound
bandwidth. Unless your bandwidth needs are

Best Wireless bridge for Polycoms
Hi,
I'm stuck doing an install with Polycoms at a small office with no RJ-45.
They went wireless 100%, poor them. I insist on using Polycom unless it's
impossible because that's what I am standardized on for many reasons.
What's the best way/device to turn a wired Polycom 501 (or any Polycom for
that matter) into a WiFi phone?
