Splitting row in function of time
Hello all, I have a data frame that looks like this: http://r.789695.n4.nabble.com/file/n4077622/Capture.png I would like to know if it's possible to split a single row into two rows when the time frame between "beg" and "end" overlaps midnight. I want to compare the frequency of each activity for each day so a row for a phase that overlaps on two dates unbalances the

terminology for frames and environments
In ?exists it says: inherits: should the enclosing frames of the environment be searched? I believe what it is saying is that if inherits is TRUE and it fails to find the variable it will look in the parent environment and the parent of the parent, etc. (as opposed to looking in the calling frame next and the caller of the caller, etc.) Now I thought that standard terminology in R was: 1.

[OT] Just saying hi!
I hope this list is small enough for not beeing banned when introducing oneself. So... Hi, I just subscribed to the theora-lists. I'm from the XVID project, so I know a deal about video and MPEG-4 in particular, but nothing about Vorbis/Theora etc., That's why I'm here, because I'm interested in patent-free alternatives. I guess there is no documentation of the current status

Problems in "plot.lm" with option "which=5"
Hi: I think I found an error in plot.lm with the option which=5, of course I can be wrong , as usually happen, but I had work on it for a while and show it to some other people that work with R, and so far I don't see what I can be interpreting wrong. I also worked over the plot.lm's code and change some lines to get what I call "the right plot", if any body is

Human readable output
Hello, I would like to suggest an option to rsync that makes it output sizes in human readable units, instead of always using bytes. So Total file size: 30864401502 bytes would be output as: Total file size: 28.7 GiB Similarly for mebibytes and kibibytes. If there's already such an option, then I'm sorry -- I didn't find it in the manual pages. -- Martin Geisler

two way synchronization with rsync?
I have two offices in one city; employees work in both of them (once in office A, the next or an hour later in office B etc.). They would like to have the same profile (i.e., if they log off in office A, they would like to have their documents, Desktop, emails etc. in the profile in the office B when they arrive there an hour later). Is it possible with rsync to construct such a "two way

Help me with this Questiions
I would like to understand the capabilities of GNU rsync software / utility. This is used for syncing file systems / file level data across two systems. I specifically would like to know its capabilities in syncing files ? 1) How does it replicate data changes to files ? entire file or only the incremental blocks? 2) Does it have any block level replication capabilities? 3) Can it

Question on survival
Hi, I'm going crazy trying to plot a quite simple graph. i need to plot estimated hazard rate from a cox model. supposing the model i like this: coxPhMod=coxph(Surv(TIME, EV) ~ AGE+A+B+strata(C) data=data) with 4 level for C. how can i obtain a graph with 4 estimated (better smoothed) hazard curve (base-line hazard + 3 proportional) to highlight the effect of C. thanks!! laudan [[alternative

Help : glm p-values for a factor predictor
It might help if you provided the code you used. It's possible that you didn't use direction="backward" in stepAIC(). Or if you did, it was still running, so whatever else you try will still be slow. The statement "R provides only the pvalues for each level" is wrong: look at the anova() function. Bob On 29 June 2017 at 11:13, Beno?t PELE <benoit.pele at

Help : glm p-values for a factor predictor
Hello, i am a newby on R and i am trying to make a backward selection on a binomial-logit glm on a large dataset (69000 lines for 145 predictors). After 3 days working, the stepAIC function did not terminate. I do not know if that is normal but i would like to try computing a "homemade" backward with a repeated glm ; at each step, the predictor with the max pvalue would be

Weird behaviour when using "kernel oplocks = yes" leading to "corrupt" files - bug in samba?
Hi folks, Today I noticed some strange behaviour when accessing a samba server (samba 3.0.25a) from windows: On our Debian fileserver I prepared a file testfile.txt being owned by user usera and group dpt-a. Then I "setfacl -m g:admins:rwx testfile.txt". User userb who is only in group admins, but not in dpt-a is thus permitted to access and change this file by its POSIX-ACL, which

Dividing rows when time is overlapping
Hi all, I have dataframe that was created from the fusion of two dataframes. Both spanned over the same time intervall but contained different information. When I put them together, the info overlapped since there is no holes in the time interval of one of the dataframe. Here is an example where the rows "sp=A and B" are part of a first df and the rows "sp=C" come from a
