Problem Compiling Samba 3.5.12
Hi all, I am running slackware 8.0, 2.4.20 with GCC 2.95.3. I know it?s ancient J I have previously successfully compiled 3.5.8 using the attached Makefile. I had to add ?nodefs? to several lines in order to allow 3.5.8 to compile previously. However, when I use the same Makefile with 3.5.12, I end up with the following: Linking bin/smbd lib/util.o: In function

Issue with compile of 3.5.12 -- krb related
After compiling samba 3.5.12 from source on CentOS 5.7, I test the configuration with 'testparm lib/smb.conf' and I get the following output WARNING: Ignoring invalid value 'ADS' for parameter 'security' Unknown parameter encountered: "realm" Ignoring unknown parameter "realm" I figured this might be due to a compile problem and I re-checked the

wbinfo -r not listing domain local groups
Hi, Between Samba 3.4.15 and 3.5.11 there was a change in how 'wbinfo -r' gathers the groups of which a given user is member of. Assume there is a Windows 2003 domain called DOMA. This domain has a child domain DOMB. On DOMA there is a security group G-DL-DOMA which has domain local scope. On DOMB there is a security group G-U-DOMB which has universal scope. Group G-U-DOMB is member

make errors, rsync 2.6.9 with acls patch
Hi. I'm attempting to compile rsync 2.6.9 with both the acls & xattr patches on an MacBook pro (ie: Intel processor), with the latest Apple Developer Tools. While this is OS X client, I've enabled acls via "sudo /usr/bin/fsaclctl -p / -e" and rebooted, prior to attempting to compile rsync. Is there something else inherent in OS X Server perhaps, that I'm still

Could not write response[27830:AUTH_CRAP] to client: Broken pipe
Hello, We're using FreeRADIUS and winbind to authenticate access to our wireless network. The problem we're experiencing is that the secure channel between the wbind daemon and the DC appears to be unstable. The outages last for about 30 seconds and coincide with a series of "...Broken pipe" messages in the log.winbindd file (see below). Is this a samba fault or an DC issue,

wbinfo --ping can't find winbind?
I have compiled 3.5.12 from source on CentOS 5.7. I am using krb5.conf, smb.conf files that have worked with other 3.5.x installs of Samba (at least in terms of wbinfo working) but now I am not able to get any data from winbind. The server is running and the logs don't report any errors. I had done several 'make uninstall' while compiling/recompiling with different options. Could

A HTB problem
My hardware is a Linksys AP with MIPS 300MHz and Linux kernel 2.4.20. The traffics are from two LAN switch ports to WAN port. And the traffics are generate at a rate of 80Mbit. So the total traffic to WAN port is 160Mbit. The shaping works well that the traffic to WAN port is about 50/30Mbit according to configuration. But the priority seems strange when the root rate is 50Mbit. When the root

Non primary group permissions not working
Hi, I'm having a major problem here. We are running Samba 3.5.11 on Debian Squeeze. Authentication is via ADS When I create a directory with group rwx access I cannot access that directory through Windows or smbclient unless that group is my primary group. If I'm a member of the group (but it's not my primary), I can't access it. If I ssh to the server it works AOK
