rsh issue/update (access denied)...
hi...
i've got an "access denied" issue with rsh on one of my boxes (and before we
start, no "use ssh" comments.. rsh is what i'm dealing with for now!!)
i've got a few boxes in my network, and i can successfully rsh into them
with no issue. however, on one box, i can't access it using rsh, and i'm
running out of things to try... kind of curious.

Fedora and CentOS no longer on speaking terms
I have just upgraded my server from CentOS 5 to CentOS 6 and am having
connectivity problems. My laptop runs Fedora 14, and I have been in the habit
of mounting data partitions on my server by fstab entries. Since the update
I've not been able to do that. On watching the messages during a reboot I saw
a statement that the connection was denied by the server (where are those

OT Proftpd stopped authenication for users
For some reason proftpd stopped authentication for users. Anonymous
access still works but when someone tries to access the server via their
login it no longer authenticates them. I recently ran yum where proftpd
was updated (that said, I'm not sure that caused the problem). I
uninstalled the new version and and installed a prior version with no
change. Below is a look at my config, a

Cc the QEMU Block Layer mailing list (qemu-block@nongnu.org), who might

nfs mount disables AD permissions
Hello,
The problem I was facing before, permissions being reset and not
changeable using windows explorer security tab
was in fact triggered by the command "mount -t nfs
192.168.1.91:/mnt/raid1SAS /mnt/raid1SAS"
So it seems that whenever I mount an nfs share (which doesn't seem to
support the extended attributes), then
for some reason the extended attributes of all other files

# no longer working
Hi list,
For months everything worked super here in our setup.
This week I implemented some new idea in our webbased
calendar system. I thought it would be nice to have an
option that tells asterisk you are not available for calls
during an appointment.
For this to work I could no longer use the ringgroup setup:
Dial(SIP/10&SIP/11&SIP/12,40,tr)
So I thought, why not use the Local channel

Bug#443886: /etc/logcheck/ignore.d.server/proftpd: [proftpd] Refused user $USER for service $FOO
Package: logcheck-database
Version: 1.2.61
Severity: wishlist
File: /etc/logcheck/ignore.d.server/proftpd
Two weeks ago, I got a rush of these:

(Apparently, fail2ban managed to miss those.)
This is triggered by pam_listfile, which is used by proftpd (and other

VFSTAB mounting for ProFTPD
I have ProFTPD successfully installed and running, though I would like to virtually mount some directory''s from my ZFS configurations. In a previous ProFTPD install on Ubuntu, I had in my /etc/fstab directory an entry like this:
/HDD ID/directory /home/FTP-shared/information vfat bind 0 0
Though I am not able to do this with my /etc/vfstab. This is my entry in my vfstab config file:

Bug#397466: logcheck-database: proftpd rules do not support IPv6 addresses with UseReverseDNS off
Package: logcheck-database
Version: 1.2.49
Severity: normal
Tags: patch
Hi,
with "UseReverseDNS off" in /etc/proftpd/proftpd.conf the IP is used instead
of the hostname:
... (::ffff:aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd[::ffff:aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd]) ...
The rules in /etc/logcheck/ignore.d.server/proftpd do not support colons in
the hostname.
The attached patch fixes this.
Greetings,
Gregor

Bug#437753: logcheck-database: proftpd ignore rule does not match when rhost is IPv6
Package: logcheck-database
Version: 1.2.54
Severity: normal
It would appear that proftpd is now logging IP addresses in IPv6 form,
even the v4 ones. I got a bunch of these last week:
