wiki - vnc -gerald and walsh, update?
To GeraldClark and PjWelsh,
I have centos 6 and used your guide to get it going with vnc.
First of all thanks for putting that up, so many techs told me I did not
have to install a desktop to make it work and they were so wrong.
http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/VNC-Server
Using centos 6 I found some differences and wanted to post them here to
see if anything helps clear it all up.

Xen C6 kernel 4.9.13 and testing 4.9.15 only reboots.
List moderator: feel free to delete my previous large message with attachments that's in the moderation queue...it's now obsolete anyway.
I have found a fix/workaround for my reboot issues with Xen 4.6.3-12 + Kernel 4.9.13:
Once I finally got serial output all the way through the boot process (xen+dom0) I discovered the stack trace:

Xen C6 kernel 4.9.13 and testing 4.9.15 only reboots.
Apologies: I installed the newer -26 kernel and had not rebooted into it.
The grub2 menu item should have been "CentOS Linux (4.9.20-25.el7.x86_64) 7
(Core)". I am currently restarting that remote affected system (unmodified
grub2 entry first).
Thanks

For the whole machine?
So far, I?ve only found information regarding blocking access for particular
users. I want it the other way round, i. e. the whole maching usually not
having access and allowing access to only a particular user.

seeking enlightenment (java and dependencies)
Ok, all you javaphiles, explain to me why, when I was looking to try to
remove java-1.5.0-gcj and the -devel, it wanted to remove, as
dependencies, things like tomcat6, ant, and gcc-java. Note that
java-1.6.0-oipenjdk and -devel are installed....

Hello everybody,
after upgrading dovecot on a debian wheezy installation from the
standard package version (dovecot 2.1.7) to dovecot 2.2.13-11 from
wheezy-backports, i noticed some errors in my logs...

yum update Failing with libvirt-daemon error
PJ
My server is critical to me, but not the public, fortunately.
I can take it down as I suggested, but am a bit reluctant to do so until I have heard more opinions.
Presumably your system update failed using your script, so it will probably fail for me if I copy it.
I will keep a copy anyway.

Proposed edit to VNC server Wiki entry
Greetings from member BVeale.
I would like to recommend an addition to the VNC server Wiki page located here:
http://wiki.centos.org/HowTos/VNC-Server
I would recommend adding a reference to this blog post from "Code Ghar":
http://codeghar.wordpress.com/2009/06/11/remote-login-with-gdm-and-vnc-on-fedora-11/
It could be a summary of the steps given in this post, or just a link to

Xen C6 kernel 4.9.13 and testing 4.9.15 only reboots.
Sad to say that I already tested 4.9.20-26 from your repo yesterday...it does look a little cleaner before it dies, but still dies. I have not tested it with the vcpu=4 wokaround, but I can tonight if you would like. Relevant bits below:
Loading Xen 4.6.3-12.el7 ...
Loading Linux 4.9.20-26.el7.x86_64 ...
Loading initial ramdisk ...

There was a note that the non-Xen kernel at the same kernel version did
indeed boot:
"CentOS-6 4.9.20-26 kernel exhibits the same constant
kernel-start-then-reboot issue when booting under the "CentOS Linux, with
Xen hypervisor" grub2 menu option. However, it *does* properly boot under
the "CentOS Linux (4.9.20-25.el7.x86_64) 7 (Core)" grub2 menu option!"

FTS solr issue with second private namespace
Hi all,
I have just stumbled over an issue with the FTS plugin of dovecot.
For our primary namespace, INBOX and its subfolders, searching works
without any problems but in a second namespace, which I have created
for old/archived mails, searching of the mail text/body does not work.
I can see the search request in the tomcat log but no result is created
and the mail client (Thunderbird) keeps

OT: Java down
Hallo,
yesterday from 3 to 11 pm UTC our Java application was down. As far as I
know, the server java.sun.com was not available.
Needs any java application direct access to sun?
Can I stop this hell?
Any idea?
Best regards
Helmut

yum update Failing with libvirt-daemon error
Dear Jean-Marc, Thank you for replying.
I Installed CentOS 7 and centos-virt from the normal repos (CentOS-Xen) in December 2015 and have not had to build anything. I am running CentOS 7, not sure if it has automatically updated itself to 7.3, so I would expect the updates to come from the repo, and not need building from source.

Francis

Access is exclusively via RDP-sessions. I don?t know if I can get a VM to hibernate
when idle and to wake up when someone tries to connect; and delying logins as mmight
occur when the VM needs to wake up first is not an option. Besides, internet access

Xen C6 kernel 4.9.13 and testing 4.9.15 only reboots.
Here is something interesting... I went through the BIOS options and found
that one R710 that *is* functioning only differed in that "Logical
Processor"/Hyperthreading was *enabled* while the one that is *not*
functioning had HT *disabled*. Enabled Logical Processor and the system
starts without issue! I've rebooted 3 times now without issue.

I've not gotten any bites from my posting on the xen-devel mailing list.
Here is the only one to-date:

Does anyone know how to produce the hypervisor messages? I've already
removed the rhgb and quiet options from the boot.
Thanks

HOWTO VNC
I have agreed to write a HOWTO for VNC using service vncserver.
I was recruited by Akemi / toracat who suggested I refer to the following
