CentOS6 and netboot
Is there any chance the system-config-netboot* rpms upstream removed from CentOS6 could be provided in extras? The CentOS5 SRPM builds cleanly under CentOS6, and upstream's workaround is insufficient as it only covers diskless clients, not helpful if you need pxeos.

Netboot and PXELINUX
Hi all, I have just been informed that Netboot (http://netboot.sourceforge.net/) can be used to produce PXE boot ROMs. I wonder if anyone has tried running this combination with PXELINUX? This is obviously a really big deal... :) -hpa

netboot, vnc and no keyboard/mouse/monitor
hey guys, I just created a custom netboot cd, that launches and loads from a http source, but connects to a vnc listening viewer. All in all, not hard to do, but what is different with this one is that it skips the media check, has no prompts and allows you to start the install on a machine that has no keyboard/mouse/monitor. Was handy for me as when i have some boxes to load, I just

Diskless client from system-config-netboot doesn't boot.
Hi folks, I've followed a set of instructions I found on http://www.linuxtopia.org/online_books/centos_linux_guides/centos_enterprise_linux_sysadmin_guide/ch-diskless.htmli which describes using system-config-netboot to set up PXE booting. I used a CentOS-4.3 install (custom, all options de-selected, then anaconda-busybox installed after the fact) as a reference/base. I followed the

EFI netboot to kickstart install
Hello All Up until now we have been using standard PXE boot to do kick start installs of centos boxes. With recent machines however they come by default as EFI boot. We can set them to legacy but I would like to solve this before this option goes away. Just wondering if anyone has any experience setting up a net boot server that can be used to kickstart EFI machines? Thanks Grant

"Failed to free base memory" once again
Hi, I got the following output booting through PXElinux. I used a netboot floppy image for my ISA NE2000 (RTL8019) network card to download the pxelinux.0 file from my server. I use syslinux 3.07. Here's my output: PXELINUX 3.07 2005-01-12 Copyright (C) 1994-2005 H. Peter Anvin ######################################################## # Welcome to the Petteflet PXE booting infrastructure. #

"keeppxe" broken in 3.74 - short-cycle 3.75
It appears that the 3.74 completely broke the "keeppxe" directive -- not due to the command-line parser, but due to mishandling of the flag later. I consider this to be severe enough to do a short-cycle 3.75. As a result, I would like help with: a) are there any other bugs that snuck through? b) once I have a 3.75-pre1, I would really appreciate help testing it. The goal is to have

netboot arbitrary linux systems
I've been using pxelinux with good success to netboot knoppix systems. This is link has been the base for my work so far: http://www.babytux.org/articles/howto/how2netknoppix.php I keep all of the netbootable systems in /tftpboot/systems/knoppix-#.##, where knoppix-#.## is the filesystem extracted from the knoppix cd. I use a variation on the knoppix-terminalserver script to generate a

What does system-config-netboot do???
Having given up on getting system-config-netboot to work (reading the pointers I have received to the wiki, say it is broken), I have the simple question "What is it suposed to do???" I have tried to look at the code, but its written in python and I cant follow the logic. Im sure I can easily do whatever is necessary at the command line If I just knew what it was trying to do with its

Hello all, Since the "pxeos" utility is missing per Bug #0002304, http://bugs.centos.org/view.php?id=2304 which is required for me to setup a PXE server; which I'd like to in CentOS; Question: ... I am unable to find source for this; seems like the bug means that this was an oversight; perhaps the source is available somewhere and I can simply compile? If anyone is familiar

help configuring netboot over remote serial terminal
Hi Folks, I'm trying to install Debian onto a headless server (Supermicro X8SIE-LN4F motherboard). The on-board IPMI BMC redirects the serial port to COM3, and I can talk to it just fine over a remote console connection. I've been trying to install Debian remotely, and have the DHCP and TFTP servers working, and things seem to work (at least into the Splash screen) if I'm using
