anyone using pxelinux.0 > 3.36 successfully with HP DLXXX G3, G5?
Hello * this morning I tried to upgrade from pxelinux 3.11 to 3.84 and discovered that the localboot stuff does not work on HP DL360 G3 and G5. The latest syslinux Version I found with a working localboot is 3.36. pxelinux.cfg/default: default harddisk prompt 1 label harddisk localboot 0 implicit 0 timeout 250 This so simple, it should just work, shouldn't it? SYSLINUX 3.85 released
Syslinux 3.85 is a bug fix and minor new feature release. The biggest change is undoubtedly that gPXELINUX is now considered feature complete, and should be able to be a drop-in for PXELINUX for all uses. Special thanks to Intel Corporation, my current employer, for their support for my Syslinux work. Changes in 3.85: * gPXELINUX: updated to gPXE 1.0.0. gPXELINUX can now do NBP

Syslinux 3.85 chain.c32 problem solved
Thanks to debugging information from Thomas Mieslinger, I have root-caused the failure of chain.c32 in Syslinux 3.85. I have put out Syslinux 3.86-pre1 and Syslinux 4.00-pre33 which fix the problem. I expect to release a Syslinux 3.86 relatively shortly (ideally in the next two weeks), with bug fixes only. I would like to figure out if there are other bug fixes we can get in in reasonable time,

Hello, just tried gpxelinux-4.00-pre36, but don't receive any output console when running disk.c32 or chain.c32. Could you please have a look in the sysdump I mailed earlier. Syslinux 3.85-pre7: new tool "sysdump"
So I realized I really need a better way to collect information from problematic machines, so I spent today rewriting the old memdump tool into a new "sysdump" tool. sysdump can write its output either to a serial port using ymodem[1] or over the network using TFTP *if* it was booted from the network, using PXELINUX. John R.: I would obviously like you to try this on the machine that

Sysylinux-6.03 freezes at Loading kernel..., works smooth with 4.06 via SD-CARD
Hi, First of all thank you so much for your prompt suggestions/help. I really appreciate this. apply with a division
Hi, I'd like to normalize a dataset by dividing each row by the first row. Very simple, right? I tried this: > expt.fluor X1 X2 X3 1 124 120 134 2 165 163 174 3 52 51 43 4 179 171 166 5 239 238 235 >first.row <- expt.fluor[1,] > normed <- apply(expt.fluor, 1, function(r) {r / first.row}) >normed [[1]] X1 X2 X3 1 1 1 1 [[2]] X1 X2 X3 1

Sysylinux-6.03 freezes at Loading kernel..., works smooth with 4.06 via SD-CARD
Hi I have tried to install syslinux 4.06 on the SD card again, it works like a charm. I am being very carefull with c32 files from the same version bootloader. No success. I am also unmounting /dev/sdb1 before installing syslinux, as mentioned in the given documentations. In the pasted syslinux.cfg content--- I have also tried using only one DEFAULT directive. No success. syslinux boots

[PATCH 0/6] Makefile cleanups
From: Matt Fleming <matt.fleming at linux.intel.com> This series includes a patch (PATCH 1/6) that I sent previously but I thought it was worth sending it again since the rest of the series depends on it, and it also gives a bit of context. These cleanups make it simpler to do the big switchover to ELF modules on the elflink branch because the libraries in $LIBS are now contained in one

ISOLINUX 3.85 chain.c32 issue
Hi all, I have a similar issue with Thomas Mieslinger mentioned in the previous mail. The difference is here isolinux is used instead of gpxelinux.0. I use isolinux 3.85, and "chain.c32 hd0" to boot the local Debian Lenny Linux on VMWare workstation 6.5, it fails. If I replace it with isolinux 3.84, it works. Hope this report helps. Problem with buggy Dell Latitude BIOS
Hello List, the most recent BIOS (A13) for the Dell Latitude E6520 has problems - gpxelinux (4.05) cannot load larger initrd (or memdisk images) with this BIOS and fails with "Not enough memory to load specified image". This results in a few of our boot images (most importantly the Backup Rescue image (and parted magix pxe version)) failing. A12 BIOS works okay. So at the moment we

recompiling syslinux 4.00pre31
Hello, I try to recompile syslinux-4.00 pre31 on RHEL5 with gcc-4.1.2 and nasm 2.07. Library_modules (list of & wiki write permissions)
Hello, I poked a little bit to extract the list of modules dependencies in Syslinux v6 (see below). I have attached a bash script that generate a nice table from the tarball. The output can either be an ASCII table, or wiki markup, typically for the page Library_modules[1]. I am not in the wiki Editor group, so I can't put that in the wiki. anyway, here's an updated dependency tree for

Missing make dependencies?
I'm seeing some sporadic build failures with 'make -j4'. The failures are: make[4]: *** No rule to make target 'hello.c32', needed by 'all'. Stop. I've only seen the failures with com32/samples/hello.c32 and com32/rosh/rosh.c32. I'm not a make expert, but I think it's due to missing dependencies. This patch seems to fix my failures, but I'm

Accessing memory PCI config space from a com32 module
I need to do PCIe memory mapped configuration space access from a com32 module. (ECAM, memory mapped, not CAM, which uses I/O port access). I know how to find the base address to the config space in Linux and use ECAM to access configuration registers. com32/lib/pci does not use ECAM. In Linux the region for ECAM is referred to as PCI MMCONFIG. (often shows up as e0000000-efffffff, see
