xVM and VirtualBox
Hi unfortunately VirtualBox does not work yet in a Solaris Dom0: I installed VirtualBox beta and it runs fine on bare metal. Unfortunately the necessary driver does not load automatically in a xVM Dom0. It can be loaded manually but it looks like it does not work in a Dom0: bash-3.2# modinfo | grep vbox # this is a one time task: bash-3.2# cp /platform/i86pc/kernel/drv/amd64/vboxdrv

Booting a USB drive
I have a 40GB IDE laptop hard drive I took out of a dead laptop and I was hoping to put some good use to it. The drive is inside a USB drive enclosure and I carry it in my laptop bag. Its not big enough to be a backup drive, and generally too big to BIOS boot from. The chipset on the enclosure is from Prolific and registers as a "Mass Storage Device" I haven't had good luck with

drive size limit for syslinux
I was working on making a 40gb laptop ide drive bootable via syslinux as the drive is in an external hd enclosure. syslinux installed on a 100 mb bootable fat32 partition and when I tried to boot from the drive, I got a syslinux prompt which was correct as I had not done a config file yet. I later found a 60GB laptop ide drive and put the larger drive in the enclosure and tried to install

Hello, Is there a way to touch Shoutcast directory with an Icecast server ? Is for a mp3 stream. The server is already serving ogg stream but our foundation got a new member that did not know about ogg, and he needs time to encode his tracks to ogg, and then we should temporarily relay his mp3 stream, but we want to be dired by SC directory ... How to ? :-) -- ASPO Infog?rance

[LLVMdev] Issues with HelloWorld on VMKit
HI I tried to follow the procedure at http://vmkit.llvm.org/get_started.html . Builds of LLVM and classpath went fine (after fixing a few dependency problems). After compiling a simple HelloWorld with javac I got ../vmkit/Debug/bin/jnjvm HelloWorld hang for a while and then spits out a terminate called without an active exception Abort I also tried to compile on a machine with gcc 4.1 and

serial port install system
The serial port install has almost gone by the wayside, yet I still find a number of cases where it would be great if there were such a thing. Headless servers come to mind specifically. Grub legacy has a way to setup the serial port and broadcast output to both the console and the serial port to check to see where the real person is. I'd like to know if syslinux can do this as well. [LLVMdev] problems building vmkit
Hi All, Thanks Nicolas for pointing out that I needed --enable-targets=x86,cpp for my llvm config to get vmkit to build. The process gets a lot farther but fails in different places depending upon the vmkit config (Can you please see the three case below?). My machine is a intel core i7 running ubuntu karmic and gcc 4.4.1. What arch/OS/distro/gcc do you all have VMKit working on? thanks for

Flags/tags lost when moving e-mails to another folder
I faced the same issue and had to change from maildir to sdbox storage. The imap labels are now stored centrally per folder in an index file and not the filename anymore. Moving mails from one folder to another keeps the lable intact now. Am 22.02.23 um 11:20 schrieb Alexis Ben Miloud--Josselin: > Hi, > > I have an issue with e-mail tags/flags. [LLVMdev] Error on completing ToyThread::execute() in ToyVM (vmkit project)
Hi, The VMKit framework has been updated to be more generic. The getVirtualTable method is not exposed anymore since this method suppose that your object layout contains a virtual table. Now you have new methods to get / set objects type which are virtual methods inherited by the vmkit::VirtualMachine class. Thus you can still keep your object identity as virtual tables, but now the

Flags/tags lost when moving e-mails to another folder
Hi, I have an issue with e-mail tags/flags. The IMAP user is using Thunderbird or Roundcube with Thunderbird tags. When the user (with an IMAP client) moves an e-mail from a folder to another, tags set on the e-mail are lost. When we check the filesystem, we can see the "a" tag: -rw-rw---- 2 test mailusers 2498 Dec 29 15:31

CentOS 8 Install as DOMU in PV Environment
All, I have successfully installed CentOS 7 on a PV environment, and have been trying to see if I can can get a CentOS 8 install running. Hardware does not support virtualization extensions, hence the PV environment and I cant do HVM for the install then migrate. My understanding is that PV support is in the kernel, and that the distro of Linux shouldn't technically matter. But currently

[LLVMdev] VmKit - Error in j3/precompiler after a big surgery to MMTk part
Hi, I replaced the MMTk code with a C-version MMTk code (I have been working on such AOT compiler for a while). The compiler should deal with most of the MMTk code base correctly - at least I get marksweep running with a tiny client). So I am trying to put the C version MMTk back with VmKit. I tried not to change much existing code except where necessary, such as name mangling and MMTkObject

ivy bridge and custom font
Thank you for pointing the direction. Indeed, ver. 6.03 works correctly. BTW, this project gets very complicated. I spent a lot of time guessing which files I would need. I hoped that reading Makefile would help me but I it did not. Maybe you could add a target for copying final results to a destination. (Target 'installer' do sth else ... /slackware 14.1/) Best regards P.O.
