All, Thanks for all your help. Now, I can compile the latest source code base on RedHat 5.5 after update nasm(to 2.09) and binutil(2.17). And *make spotless* before *make* under core/ directory. But with the new pxelinux.0, the PXEClient can not bootup. The error info, No valid file system found! And stuck in there. I think maybe the gcc cause the problem. My gcc version is 4.1.2. Hello ppc32 users, I think I finally got the "official" answer on the ppc32 problem. Apparently some distributions build binutils so that it defaults to elf32ppc emulation rather than elf32ppclinux. This doesn't matter when using gcc, since gcc overrides the emulation explicitly, but it does matter when invoking ld directly like klibc does. This patch should hopefully take

Syslinux 4.02 is a bug fix release, but also adds an experimental new Win64 installer (syslinux64.exe), extends the new syslinux installer CLI to all the installers. Changes in 4.02: * SYSLINUX: correctly handle the case where the -d option is specified with a non-absolute path, i.e. "syslinux -d syslinux" instead of "syslinux -d /syslinux".

People who have reported compilation failures with gcc 4.7.0 - what is the version of binutils that goes along with it? There has been a very serious bug uncovered in binutils 2.22.52.0.[12] which probably affects Syslinux... -hpa -- H. Peter Anvin, Intel Open Source Technology Center I work for Intel. Hi, I merged ldlinux.asm and extlinux.asm on the fsc branch, observing that there were very little difference between them left. So far, so good. I found, however, a test which fails on the fsc branch (with or without the merge.) I have tracked it down to vfat_mangle_name() overwriting a bunch of random .bss16 memory, eventually including the CallbackSP variable.
