uEFI support for PXELINUX
I am in charge of running a small network that allows users to install Operating Systems from PXE. Our new machines support PXE booting from uEFI. I was wondering if/when PXELINUX will be able to load from uEFI PXE requests? I've successfully booted to elilo from uEFI, but I need to flexibility that PXELINUX has in order to perform efficient installs.

IPv6 and PXELINUX
Is IPv6 supported by PXELINUX? With the transition to IPv6 occurring already, I'm seeing requests for supporting an IPv6-Based PXEboot and need to know if it's supported or is planned for support.

pxelinux HTTP transport UEFI vmlinuz
Hi, Since which version of pxelinux.0 is understood in pxelinux.cfg/default that kernel http://host.lan/netboot/vmlinuz means vmlinuz should be transported over HTTP? Since which version of pxelinux.0 is it possible to boot on UEFI? Those questions elaborated: What I want is fast netboot UEFI servers. What I'm looking for is an advice which version of PXELINUX between version

For non-EFI systems, this has meant use HTTP services if available (ie, iPXE/gPXE or lwIP as in

Suggested update to the Wiki page on PXElinux (UEFI-related stuff in ISC dhcpd.conf)
Dear gentlemen, here goes the documentation fix I was talking about :-) The Wiki page on PXElinux, specifically the chapter on UEFI at the end of that page: https://wiki.syslinux.org/wiki/index.php?title=PXELINUX#UEFI ...contains a few examples of ISC DHCPd configuration. The stumbling block for me was the syntax of these "if" scopes: if option architecture-type = 9 { filename

PXE booting WinPE with UEFI architecture
This got me closer, but it got to "Encapsulating winpe.wim..." and never went through the rest of the way. Ultimately PXELINUX apparently timed out and the machine rebooted. Here is relative portion of pxelinux: LABEL SCCM OSD Boot MENU LABEL ^2. SCCM OSD Boot com32 linux.c32 append wimboot initrdfile=bootmgr.exe,BCD,boot.sdi,winpe.wim TEXT HELP

current state of pxelinux for UEFI...
Dear gentlemen, I think I'd better start another thread for this... thanks to Ady Ady and Gregory Lee Bartholomew for their responses to my early question. Just for the record, my fresh experience with PXElinux 6.x follows: syslinux.efi version 6.03 does boot to the extent that it shows a prompt, but if I provide it with a CFG file containing several labels, no matter what label I type

PXE booting UEFI
Good Afternoon, As per the installation guide, section 30.2.2 I?ve created an efidefault file at /var/lib/tftpboot/pxelinux/pxelinux.cfg/efidefault However, this file is never requested by the 64 bit PXE loader (bootx64.efi), as shown by tcpdump: 75 RRQ "/pxelinux/42272635-0011-5053-ACF2-82A100E615F2" octet tsize 0 blksize 512 59 RRQ "/pxelinux/01-00-50-56-A7-BA-BF"

Windows Server DHCP + UEFI recipe
I've found a way to support PXE booting both UEFI and BIOS architectures with Windows Server DHCP. This method uses a feature introduced in WinServer 2012: DHCP policies. First, in the the DHCP console, at the IPv4 root of the server, create a vendor class named PXEClient (UEFI x64) with the following value: PXEClient:Arch:00007 Then create your configuration for your BIOS clients in your

Virtualization env to test/demo UEFI PXE boot....
All, (This may be a Gene question, see http://www.syslinux.org/wiki/index.php/Development/Testing). I'd like to find a virtualization env to test and demo the new UEFI-based PXE boot in pxelinux. I've tried Virtualbox (BIOS-based PXE boot only). And I've tried VMWare workstation 20 (ditto). I know VMWare ESXi will now do UEFI PXE boot, I've seen it as work. But for home or

UEFI PXE / split config / TFTP attempted to DHCP server, not TFTP server
All, I realize this is not strictly a PXELINUX question. So I hope you'll indulge me; hopefully some of these PXELINUX experts have seen this before. And can tell me what I'm doing wrong. Or confirm my suspicions. I have a test lab server at work. Split config. The network team manages the DHCP servers, points to our TFTP server. Test subnet has 3 DHCP pools. BIOS PXE, UEFI PXE and

RE: DHCP option 93 for UEFI
Ady, There are at least 3 ways to set up your DHCP server to differentiate between std DHCP, BIOS PXE and UEFI PXE. Option 93 (arch) is one way. In ISC syntax, here's 3 ways: 1. Match on VCI class "pxe-clients" { match if substring (option vendor-class-identifier, 0, 9) = "PXEClient"; set vendor-string = substring ( option vendor-class-identifier, 0, 9);

Problem with PXE/UEFI
Hi Guys, i have a problem with PXE/UEFI Boot. Legacy PXE Boot is working fine. I use Dnsmasq with integrated tftp. As Mentioned above, legacy pxe boot is working fine, tcpdump shows: --- start tcpdump legacy pxe boot --- 13:44:16.589197 IP 0.0.0.0.bootpc > 255.255.255.255.bootps: BOOTP/DHCP, Request from f8:ca:b8:06:7d:ed (oui Unknown), length 548 13:44:20.543910 IP 0.0.0.0.bootpc >
