Heterogeneous XCP 1.6 pool
Hi, I''ve been trying to use E5520 and X5650 together in an heterogeneous pool without success. I know the combination is not on the official XenServer supported list (http://hcl.xensource.com/CPUPoolsList.aspx), but I thought it would be possible to set the mask anyway and see for myself if the combination works… My problem is that the mask doesn''t "stick" after a

binaries in syslinux-4.02.tar.bz2
Hi list, I've noticed that there are a number of binaries in syslinux-4.02.tar.bz2, which seems a bit odd. Even stranger is that I get different syslinux behaviour depending on whether I rebuild these or use the ones from the tarball. To use the ones from the tarball I: $ make clean $ make installer $ make install-all ... whereas to rebuild everything from source I: $ make

95% confidence interval of the coefficients from a bootstrap analysis
Hello, I am doing a simple linear regression analysis that includes few variables. I am using a bootstrap analysis to obtain the variation of my variables to replacement. I am trying to obtain the coefficients 95% confidence interval from the bootstrap procedure. Here is my script for the bootstrap: N = length (data_Pb[,1]) B = 10000 stor.r2 = rep(0,B) stor.r2 = rep(0,B) stor.inter =

PXELINUX booting delays with dual Ethernet ports
We're using PXELINUX for bootstrapping the network install our Linux cluster nodes. We just got some new IBM 326m dual-Opteron servers with Broadcom NetXtreme BCM5780 dual-Gigabit Ethernet ports. These dual-Ethernet servers work in an annoying way with PXELINUX when we configure for booting from the local hard disk as the PXE-client downloads this file from the DHCP/TFTP server: label

SOLUTION: Version 3.35 problems with Broadcom BCM5780 chipset
In this thread: http://syslinux.zytor.com/archives/2007-February/008014.html I reported that IBM Opteron servers with Broadcom BCM5780 chipsets would freeze randomly in the PXE menus from the SYSLINUX 3.35 tools vesamenu.c32 and menu.c32. There did not seem to be any reason for this nor systematics in when the servers would lock up. The solution is now available: Upgrade your IBM servers to

Sluggish server with big array
Hi! I am experiencing strange behavior with my new CentOS 6.3 installation (system up to date). I have a big 11 TB EXT4 array mounted on /home/data. The server is a Tyan 2U (TA26-B3992-E) with Dual Opteron 2216, one cpu has 4 Gigs RAM and the other has 8 Gigs (so 12 Gigs total). The server uses 8 x Seagate 2TB SAS hard disks (7200 RPM) and all the disks are grouped together to form 1

Version 3.35 problems with Broadcom BCM5780 chipset
I have used the SYSLINUX 3.35 successfully to boot up vesamenu.c32 as well as menu.c32 on an HP Intel PC (Intel 965 chipset) and a few other types of PCs. But when I use those very same SYSLINUX menus on an AMD Opteron server (IBM x326m), it is capable of loading up vesamenu.c32 and menu.c32 and displaying a list of menu items. But as soon as I select any item whatsoever in the menu list, the

SS7 E1 cards
Hi, I'm looking into support for SS7 and I found an article (http://www.openss7.com/news13022002.html) which says that OpenSS7 supports Linux Support Inc's T400P-SS7 Quad T1 and E400P-SS7 Quad E1 PCI interface cards. It also says that Linux Support Inc is the primary sponsor of Asterisk. However I cannot find these cards on the Asterisk hardware page

[PATCH] Extend Multiboot1 with support for ELF64 file format
This patch is just a (shameless) copy from bug #28 [1]. The original patch has been sitting there for a couple of years now, and it was based on Syslinux v 4.05. The patch I am posting here is just a re-base on v.6.03. Whichever inadequate formatting (tabs, trailing spaces...), or any kind of correction that was required for the original patch to be accepted, is probably still required now.

mboot.c32, NUMA and tgz
Hi all, I'm attempting to PXE boot ESXi, which uses the syslinux mboot.c32 module. The mboot.c32 included with ESXi seems to be an older version that runs into an "out of memory loading.." problem halfway through, even though the box has 8GB memory. This may be related to NUMA, since it works fine on an older box but not the newer blade. I saw that some non-contiguous memory issues

It can then use disc access (not PXE), or you can pass it the ?real? kernel, but also e.g. configuration files, as Multiboot

efi mboot xen linux problem

Nothing changed, no errors about wrong a filename were displayed Initially I compiled syslinux 6.03 (slackware64,

3.0.2-testing: pci_set_dma_mask, pci_set_consistent_dma_mask(pci, 0x0fffffff) returns < 0 (ICE1712)
Hi all, I''m currently running on Ubuntu Dapper and xen 3.0 testing. I noticed my sound card didnt work. I looked in dmesg and found this: Apr 9 17:49:29 phoenix kernel: [ 27.490852] architecture does not support 28bit PCI busmaster DMA Grepping the kernel I came up with this, from sound/pci/ice1712/ice1712.c: /* check, if we can restrict PCI DMA transfers to 28 bits */
