installing syslinux on a fresh system (SATA)
Hi I understand you (mostly). 0) How do i "install the MBR code as well and to activate your partition." 1) "mount /dev/sda1 /mnt" -->> successfully completed. 2) "mkdir /mnt/extlinux" -->> successfully completed. 3) "extlinux --install /mnt/extlinux" -->> does not work. Funny, but it it seems that there is no such thing as

[PATCH][git-pull] lua: make kernel and initrd progress output match in sl_boot_linux
Hi, Any word on this request? I'm planning to add error handling (as bailing out after printing "failed") to sl_boot_linux(). Shall I build on this patch, or shall I squash them together? Thanks, Feri. Ferenc Wagner <wferi at niif.hu> writes: > The following changes since commit 81609df52ac52636a6d4af9249ede641620cb3a7: > > Centralize shift_is_held(), make it

Paravirtualized Debian (on CentOS host)
In order to create a paravirtualized guest/DomU, should i use the same distro as the host/dom0 is? Or is it possible to install a paravirtualized Debian (as a guest / DomU) into a CentOS (host / Dom0) ? installing syslinux on a fresh system (SATA)
Thanks but I am still in the same spot : 1) I have created a partition (ext2 with GParted). 2) Now what ? I was thinking that I should install syslinux (the bootloader). All the examples say something like "syslinux --directory /boot/syslinux/ --install /dev/sdb1" but this does not make any seance, because the is no /boot on the system. I have tried it anyways, but the

[PATCH] Create /var/run/tftpd-hpa.pid in standalone mode
This is more a question than a serious proposal. The name of the pid file should probably be configurable, and it should be unlinked on normal termination, but no such thing exists in standalone mode. SIGTERM and SIGINT should be catched and considered normal, I guess. Signed-off-by: Ferenc Wagner <wferi at niif.hu> --- tftpd/tftpd.c | 7 +++++++ 1 files changed, 7 insertions(+), 0
