anyone using pxelinux.0 > 3.36 successfully with HP DLXXX G3, G5?
Hello * this morning I tried to upgrade from pxelinux 3.11 to 3.84 and discovered that the localboot stuff does not work on HP DL360 G3 and G5. The latest syslinux Version I found with a working localboot is 3.36. pxelinux.cfg/default: default harddisk prompt 1 label harddisk localboot 0 implicit 0 timeout 250 This so simple, it should just work, shouldn't it? Syslinux 3.85 chain.c32 problem solved
Thanks to debugging information from Thomas Mieslinger, I have root-caused the failure of chain.c32 in Syslinux 3.85. I have put out Syslinux 3.86-pre1 and Syslinux 4.00-pre33 which fix the problem. I expect to release a Syslinux 3.86 relatively shortly (ideally in the next two weeks), with bug fixes only. I would like to figure out if there are other bug fixes we can get in in reasonable time,

argv[0] doesn't contain module name and cat.c32 hangs with Syslinux 4.00-pre36
The program name of the module can't be retrieved with argv[0]. I tested it by running cat.c32 (com32/samples/cat.c32). In Syslinux 3.85, argv[0] returns an empty string. In Syslinux 4.00-pre36, argv[0] returns some garbage characters. ISOLINUX 3.85 2010-02-20 ETCD Copyright (C) 1994-2010 H. [AVS] Question concerning reverse synchronization of a zpool
Hi, I''m struggling to get a stable ZFS replication using Solaris 10 110/06 (actual patches) and AVS 4.0 for several weeks now. We tried it on VMware first and ended up in kernel panics en masse (yes, we read Jim Dunham''s blog articles :-). Now we try on the real thing, two X4500 servers. Well, I have no trouble replicating our kernel panics there, too ... but I think I

ISOLINUX 3.85 chain.c32 issue
Hi all, I have a similar issue with Thomas Mieslinger mentioned in the previous mail. The difference is here isolinux is used instead of gpxelinux.0. I use isolinux 3.85, and "chain.c32 hd0" to boot the local Debian Lenny Linux on VMWare workstation 6.5, it fails. If I replace it with isolinux 3.84, it works. Hope this report helps. SYSLINUX 3.85 released
Syslinux 3.85 is a bug fix and minor new feature release. The biggest change is undoubtedly that gPXELINUX is now considered feature complete, and should be able to be a drop-in for PXELINUX for all uses. Special thanks to Intel Corporation, my current employer, for their support for my Syslinux work. Changes in 3.85: * gPXELINUX: updated to gPXE 1.0.0. gPXELINUX can now do NBP

extlinux issue
Trying again since the mailing list says I have a 'suspiscous header'. I have been told to get linux running on two HP DL360G4p machines (ancient rackmount xeon stuff). Unfortunately, while isolinux boots fine from CDROM, and extlinux can boot a USB stick, I cannot get extlinux to boot from the CCISS hard disks (two disks in hardware raid 1 configuration). I searched on google a lot,

extlinux vs. HP DL360 G4p
Hello List, I have been told to get linux running on two HP DL360G4p machines (ancient rackmount xeon stuff). Unfortunately, while isolinux boots fine from CDROM, and extlinux can boot a USB stick, I cannot get extlinux to boot from the CCISS hard disks (two disks in hardware raid 1 configuration). I searched on google a lot, and found (very old, many years ago) messages saying these

Multiple cards using same IRQ - getting IRQ errors and hissing
I am running Asterisk 1.16.2.13, dahdi 2.4.0 and libpri 1.4.11.4 on an HP ML110 G6 using Ubuntu Linux 10.04 LTS. I have two Digium TE121 single T1 port cards and a Digium AEX800 8-port FXS card. All PCI Express cards. Co-workers are hearing hissing sounds on some calls, and I am getting IRQ errors when running "dahdi show status". I see that sharing IRQs for Digium cards isn't

TE420 issue: card 0 span N: isr2=XX isr3=Y
I have just built a new system using an HP DL360G7 with a TE420 T1 card, and this is the first system using a generation 7 server. I'm not sure whether that is an issue or not. I am using Asterisk 1.2, and Zaptel 1.4.12.1 with patches for GEN5 of the TE420 card. I have successfully used this combination on several systems based on the DL360G6 and TE420(gen5), which have been in production for

recompiling syslinux 4.00pre31
Hello, I try to recompile syslinux-4.00 pre31 on RHEL5 with gcc-4.1.2 and nasm 2.07. Because I'm looking for information about that gpxelinux->chain.c32 hd0 boot problem I added -DDEBUG=2 to com32/lib/Makefile I get: objdump -h pxelinux.elf > pxelinux.sec perl lstadjust.pl pxelinux.lsr pxelinux.sec pxelinux.lst objcopy -O binary pxelinux.elf pxelinux.raw ../lzo/prepcore

Kernel panic is occured when multi VMs is booting togeter
This error is not 100% reproducible. However, kernel panic has been occurred many times for last two months. It usually happens when multi VMs (in our case, 14 VMs) are booting together. After we made three big changes to gain more availibility, it began to happen. Changes are : 1. Use *NAS* as vm storage for migration from local disk 2. Use *two bondings* for switch HA (with 4 nics) from
