SYSLINUX 3.85 released
Syslinux 3.85 is a bug fix and minor new feature release. The biggest
change is undoubtedly that gPXELINUX is now considered feature
complete, and should be able to be a drop-in for PXELINUX for all uses.
Special thanks to Intel Corporation, my current employer, for their
support for my Syslinux work.
Changes in 3.85:
* gPXELINUX: updated to gPXE 1.0.0. gPXELINUX can now do NBP

ISOLINUX 3.85 chain.c32 issue
Hi all,
I have a similar issue with Thomas Mieslinger mentioned in the previous
mail. The difference is here isolinux is used instead of gpxelinux.0.
I use isolinux 3.85, and "chain.c32 hd0" to boot the local Debian Lenny
Linux on VMWare workstation 6.5, it fails. If I replace it with isolinux
3.84, it works.
Hope this report helps.

results for pxelinux-4.00-pre36 on HP DL360G6 and DL360G4p
Hello,
just tried gpxelinux-4.00-pre36, but don't receive any output console
when running disk.c32 or chain.c32.
Could you please have a look in the sysdump I mailed earlier.
Thanks in advance
Thomas

recompiling syslinux 4.00pre31
Hello,
I try to recompile syslinux-4.00 pre31 on RHEL5 with gcc-4.1.2 and nasm
2.07.
Because I'm looking for information about that gpxelinux->chain.c32 hd0
boot problem I added -DDEBUG=2 to com32/lib/Makefile
I get:
objdump -h pxelinux.elf > pxelinux.sec
perl lstadjust.pl pxelinux.lsr pxelinux.sec pxelinux.lst
objcopy -O binary pxelinux.elf pxelinux.raw
../lzo/prepcore

anyone using pxelinux.0 > 3.36 successfully with HP DLXXX G3, G5?
Hello *
this morning I tried to upgrade from pxelinux 3.11 to 3.84 and
discovered that the localboot stuff does not work on HP DL360 G3 and G5.
The latest syslinux Version I found with a working localboot is 3.36.
pxelinux.cfg/default:
default harddisk
prompt 1
label harddisk
localboot 0
implicit 0
timeout 250
This so simple, it should just work, shouldn't it?

extlinux issue
Trying again since the mailing list says I have a 'suspiscous header'.
I have been told to get linux running on two HP DL360G4p machines
(ancient rackmount xeon stuff). Unfortunately, while isolinux boots
fine from CDROM, and extlinux can boot a USB stick, I cannot get
extlinux to boot from the CCISS hard disks (two disks in hardware raid
1 configuration). I searched on google a lot,

INCLUDE is broken in pxelinux/menu.c32 3.85
I was trying out the INCLUDE command within menu.c32 (via pxelinux,
actually gpxelinux) and noticed that it's broken. The symptom is that
the text is included, as expected, but the subsequent text from the
including file is wrong. In some cases it actually pulls from above
the INCLUDE leading to the INCLUDE being reprocessed (an infinite
recursion). (The recursion seems to stop after 20-30

Chain loading hard disk with gPXELinux
Hello syslinux mailing list,
I've been working on a kind of system administration tool (
http://twyna.sourceforge.net/) with a colleague of mine for our Computer
Science Bachelor degree internship. I hope I'm saying that right :)
We use gPXELinux to boot over a web service and it's all working
marvellously, except for the localboot bug. Until now we've used chain.c32

gpxelinux.0 and slow HTTP performance on VMware ESX VM
Hi,
first of all I would like to voice my deep gratitude to all syslinux developers
for this really important software. I am using it in all my automation projects
and could not manage without.
Unfortunately now I stumbled upon a problem where I am out of my wits and need
some help.
The core problem is that HTTP transfers by gpxelinux.0 are very slow. Sadly this
problem seems to be somehow

gpxelinux local disk boot does not work
I have a lab in which I keep all my computers set to try network boot
first that way it is easy to put a file in pxelinux.cfg of the mac
address of a faulty machine and have it build itself or run
diagnostics.
Up till recently I used pxelinux.0. I have been trying out gpxelinux
so that I can use its http fuctionality to download initrd images
faster to boot. I just discovered that its local boot

gpxelinux
Hi All,
I'm trying to setup gpxelinux instead of pxelinux, my goal is to fetch the
configuration files and images via http.
additionally, I want to setup all servers to boot by default from PXE - the
idea is that I can control whats booted in another place, and I don't need
to physically (or virtually) go through menus or do stuff on the machine.
my basic proof of concept is:

3.70 without "finished" gpxelinux.0?
Hello all,
I'm thinking about wrapping up a 3.70 release, even though gpxelinux.0
is technically not feature-complete. I'd like people's opinion on it.

gpxelinux.0: pxechain to another NBP then RET fails
IRC user ernini first noticed this. We both tried using
gpxe/gpxelinux.0 from Syslinux-4.04-pre22. ernini used pxechain to a
commercial NBP which RETs (the same as PXELINUX) and failed. Both of
us had success with core/pxelinux.0 from Syslinux-4.04-pre22.
For my test, I have a VM in VMware Server 2.0.2 (VMHW v7). I loaded
gpxelinux.0 using the VM's built-in PXE ROM. Then I used

gpxelinux questions
Hi All,
I've been enjoying playing with gpxe and gpxelinux, however I have a
few questions that I'd love to get some answers for...
1) Will gpxelinux support chain loading of other NBPs without hanging
or is this already resolved ?
2) Why does gpxelinux take much longer than pxelinux to enumerate the
UUID, MAC address, then hex IP address chop ?
3) Can gpxelinux load gpxe scripts at all

pxechain.com and gpxelinux.0 odd behavior
I'm sure I'm doing something wrong here, but I would appreciate a pointer.
I have tried to rtfm, but find the docs a little sparse wrt
pxechain.comand gpxelinux.0.
I am trying to setup a pxe chain server (aka chainloading?) where one of
the entries on one pxe server forwards to another (cobbler, in this case).
I know this works fine with traditional pxelinux.0 images, but it's
