Hi, Sorry for asking this again if this have been asked. I searched this mailing list but I can not find the confirmed answer. We tried to use syslinux to boot USB flash drive. [PATCH] efi: leaving long mode in kernel_jump routine
Actually your Syslinux config is less relevant than the kernel config file. Indeed Syslinux infers the method to use from the kernel image itself. I assume the .config is public. I will take a look as soon as I can Thomas Le 04/08/2015 14:09, intrigeri via Syslinux a ?crit : > Thomas Letan via Syslinux wrote (04 Aug 2015 09:27:38 GMT) : >> Are you using EFI Handover Protocol? >

Label scope
I currently have a menu system with multiple submenus. I switch menus reloading vesamenu.c32 and the submenu's config file for each submenu. I want convert my existing menu system into one config file with multiple layers of menus using ' MENU BEGIN' and 'MENU END'. I have the impression that the conversion can be done: -- old -- LABEL menuA MENU LABEL Menu A KERNEL

unable to boot XP (Image checksum error)
Hi, I'm trying to make a triple-boot recovery CD containing Linux System Rescue, XP Recovery Console, and DOS/WinME for GHOST etc. I can compile the ISO fine, and the System Rescue stuff works fine too, but when I try to boot the XP image isolinux says "Image checksum failure... sorry" and dies. Details below, separated with dashes

Hi there!! I has been modified the syslinux.cfg file according to the rules to add some boot parameters but since this modification, every time I that I highlight the modified entry in the boot menu and hit the TAB button on my keyboard, the entry's boot parameters is displayed twice and when I try to "backspace" them out, the line again get displayed twice and so on. A Couple Questions About a New Project
My compliments on the release of syslinux-5.0 and happy holidays to the entire Syslinux team.? I have a longer message in me.? Lots of curiousity about the direction of the project, but that will have to wait until I finish my first 5.0 project (*not* my first Syslinux project), which just happens to touch past problems: drive enumeration. This particular effort is on a USB flash drive, with two

Unknown keyword in syslinux.cfg
Using versions 3.53 and 3.54, I get that message with the following configuration file (which is under 8192 bytes) on a USB stick; it's the configuration file from PCLinuxOS 2007. It was originally named isolinux.cfg; I changed isolinux.* to syslinux* for booting from USB. There is no blank line at the end of the file. It works well with 3.11, but that version doesn't allow me to put all

Strange behaviour when using vesamenu.c32 and PXELinux
Hello, I was wondering if anyone had any ideas and perhaps solutions around an error i've been experiencing when using vesamenu.c32 (and the other non-vesa menu too). I have tried three different versions (the latest three) of pxelinux and the other files. The problem exists in all of them. My setup is pretty simple, filename defined in dhcpd, boot up from pxe, starts requesting configs, and

securing a remotely hosted machine
Hi, I'm looking to put together a doc for the wiki.c.o on howto secure a remotely hosted machine. Its a situation that many of us find ourselves in, wherein we either lease or colo a server ( or many ) and there is always the issue of remote hands, other facility users etc being able to get physical access of the machines. So what are the usual steps that people take in order to secure

Lin/Win desktop/games rig with PEG pass-through
Hi all, I''m planning a rig that has SuSE linux in Dom0 and Windows7 in a DomU with the PCIe video card passed through to the Win7-U and an AMD system''s onboard video for the Linux system. Couple xen-newbie questions: does my plan work in such that I intend to have the onboard video''s DVI and the video card (at present an NV GTX-460) on the same monitor and switch

initramfs_init() changes in 6.04
Commit?73fb321a5d56b ("lua: make initramfs structures full userdata objects with methods") broke my boot script, requiring a workaround along the lines of the patch below: Is this an intentional user-visible change? Help with PXE "Out of Memory" error?
Hello all! I have a server at work that we're using for PXE OS installation and LiveCD loading. It's based on CentOS 7.3, and CentOS comes with Syslinux version 4.05. We've been having this issue, very rarely, with some systems that refuse to load a LiveCD from the menu, claiming they're "out of memory" when we know that is absolutely not the case; there's plenty
