Syslinux 3.85 chain.c32 problem solved
Thanks to debugging information from Thomas Mieslinger, I have root-caused the failure of chain.c32 in Syslinux 3.85. I have put out Syslinux 3.86-pre1 and Syslinux 4.00-pre33 which fix the problem. I expect to release a Syslinux 3.86 relatively shortly (ideally in the next two weeks), with bug fixes only. I would like to figure out if there are other bug fixes we can get in in reasonable time,

anyone using pxelinux.0 > 3.36 successfully with HP DLXXX G3, G5?
Hello * this morning I tried to upgrade from pxelinux 3.11 to 3.84 and discovered that the localboot stuff does not work on HP DL360 G3 and G5. The latest syslinux Version I found with a working localboot is 3.36. pxelinux.cfg/default: default harddisk prompt 1 label harddisk localboot 0 implicit 0 timeout 250 This so simple, it should just work, shouldn't it? SYSLINUX 3.85 released
Syslinux 3.85 is a bug fix and minor new feature release. The biggest change is undoubtedly that gPXELINUX is now considered feature complete, and should be able to be a drop-in for PXELINUX for all uses. Special thanks to Intel Corporation, my current employer, for their support for my Syslinux work. Changes in 3.85: * gPXELINUX: updated to gPXE 1.0.0. gPXELINUX can now do NBP

recompiling syslinux 4.00pre31
Hello, I try to recompile syslinux-4.00 pre31 on RHEL5 with gcc-4.1.2 and nasm 2.07. Because I'm looking for information about that gpxelinux->chain.c32 hd0 boot problem I added -DDEBUG=2 to com32/lib/Makefile I get: objdump -h pxelinux.elf > pxelinux.sec perl lstadjust.pl pxelinux.lsr pxelinux.sec pxelinux.lst objcopy -O binary pxelinux.elf pxelinux.raw ../lzo/prepcore

Icon or CJK fonts in MENU TITLE, is that possible in the future ?
First I would like to say thank you to HPA for providing some really nice features in recently syslinux version. About new functions, actually I have another radical idea, since we are in Asia, most of the users here they would like to see some local fonts for the syslinux/pxelinux menu. I am wondering is that possible, in the future, the syslinux/pxelinux menu can support CJK fonts or icon ?

PXELINUX - no boot file found
PXELinux from a DHCP server - read the docs - couldnt be simpler. I'm afraid its beaten me, no matter what I do I always get the same result at the client side "PXE-E53: No boot file found" For the life of me I cannot see what I'm doing wrong and would appreciate any assistance in trying to diag. INCLUDE is broken in pxelinux/menu.c32 3.85
I was trying out the INCLUDE command within menu.c32 (via pxelinux, actually gpxelinux) and noticed that it's broken. The symptom is that the text is included, as expected, but the subsequent text from the including file is wrong. In some cases it actually pulls from above the INCLUDE leading to the INCLUDE being reprocessed (an infinite recursion). (The recursion seems to stop after 20-30

Syslinux 3.85-pre7: new tool "sysdump"
So I realized I really need a better way to collect information from problematic machines, so I spent today rewriting the old memdump tool into a new "sysdump" tool. sysdump can write its output either to a serial port using ymodem[1] or over the network using TFTP *if* it was booted from the network, using PXELINUX. John R.: I would obviously like you to try this on the machine that
