Samba Authentication with a windows password server
Hi all, I'm trying to set up Samba on a client's computer so that it authenticates the users which are accessing it via a windows domain controller and kerberos. I've been following various tutorials and it all seems to go through correctly but when the client tries to access the shares, it doesn't accept his credentials and won't get past the login window. The only failure

Re: What's the best way to make use of VLAN interfaces with VMs?
Even more puzzling, I reverted back to the old configuration to confirm what I had seen and found that it works in one direction but not the other: i.e. from 192.168.0.110 to 192.168.0.120, but not the other way around. Must be something with my configuration....which I can follow up on. So, thanks again for your help. Richard On 12/3/19 11:36 AM, Richard Achmatowicz wrote: > Laine >

questions about "connection refused"
Dear all: I installed the rsync 2.5.4 in my two machine (192.168.1.30 and 192.168.1.120, both are AIX OS) to backup data each other. The software`s installation is ok, and I can copy local files. But when I try to backup data between two machines, there reports some errors: >./bin/rsync -avz 192.168.1.30::web ./backup-3000/ rsync: failed to connect to 192.168.1.30: Connection refused

New To Asterisk
Hello, I am new to Asterisk, as of today. Installed on a RH9 box, with no problems. Built with 'make samples' as to get an understanding of how things work. Currently, I am utilizing SJPhone as a SIP client - not interested in shelling out cash for the IP phones, until I know I have a hold on things. I have run into a few problems I was hoping you could help me with : 1. When

Windows 7 can't see my Samba server
It's really weird how many times thing break in threes. This time is was my wife's laptop, my router and a phone. Anyway... My network has a router and 2 computers; my F11 box with the samba server on it called steve and my wife's laptop now running Windows 7 called Kellie-PC. My old router was a Linksys WRT54G that I had flashed with DD-WRT. I was using DHCP and DNS masquerading in

kickstart + domU for static IP
I've set up a local webserver to store kickstart files for domUs. All parameters are respected apart from the network settings. DomU always gets DHCP. Can any one help to unwrap this one? Does one add hostname, ip, netmask and gateway values to the /etc/xen/blah.cfg file? # ---- domU kickstart file ----# url --url http://192.168.1.120/centos/5/os/i386 lang en_US.UTF-8 keyboard uk network

incomprehesible quirk
I am really quite puzzled as to why I have to edit smb.conf every time I want to print to the FreeBSD machine from Win2K. (Running FBSD 4.7, samba 2.2.7 and cups 1.1.15.1_4. When I log onto FBSD with username, password, I see the folders for the printers, home, tmp, etc. but no printer. (Only 1 installed - Epson Stylus Color 900). I can access the shares on FBSD from Win2k, but there is no

Multichannel working at half speed with 2x NICs
Similar to another thread that was posted recently (archive: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/linux.samba/sRvmCb25U_s) I'm trying to get multichannel working with a virtual Linux server running version 4.4.5. [GIT PULL] fsc branch
Hi hpa, For now, I have finished the all the generic VFS-layer, generic path searching and the dir stuff (you can use the dir.c32 module to list the entries in a specified directory) in all the current fs(pxelinux excluded). BTW, I just added a new git repo, called fsc.git, to be my main git repo. Well, in fact, it's a symlink of gsoc09_liu.git, so the both will work(I guess). hpa, should

fsc branch: loop in pxe_idle_init() on qemu with pcnet card
syslinux-4.00-pre5-10-gdc10f7b locks up on qemu with pcnet card. The problem seems to be in pxe_idle_init(). fsc branch: merged ldlinux.asm and extlinux; failing test
Hi, I merged ldlinux.asm and extlinux.asm on the fsc branch, observing that there were very little difference between them left. So far, so good. I found, however, a test which fails on the fsc branch (with or without the merge.) I have tracked it down to vfat_mangle_name() overwriting a bunch of random .bss16 memory, eventually including the CallbackSP variable.

The fsc branch merged into the elflink branch...
Well, people... I have just merged the "fsc" branch (filesystems in C, largely the work of Liu Aleaxander) and the "elflink" branch (dynamic modules, the work of Claudiu Mihail and Stefan Bucur) together... I haven't tested anything other than it compiling, but it actually does compile. There are almost guaranteed to be issues that I have missed, but well, we get to
