"keeppxe" broken in 3.74 - short-cycle 3.75
It appears that the 3.74 completely broke the "keeppxe" directive -- not
due to the command-line parser, but due to mishandling of the flag later.
I consider this to be severe enough to do a short-cycle 3.75. As a
result, I would like help with:
a) are there any other bugs that snuck through?
b) once I have a 3.75-pre1, I would really appreciate help testing it.
The goal is to have

syslinux-3.36-pre8 feedback
Tested floppy boot on two machines (one PII 350, one 486DX4)
Floppy boot with syslinux is very very slow, more than 18 mn to boot a linux
kernel from floppy on the 2 machines.
Tested with 3 different disquettes that were know to work, boot is reached
after this very long time.
Noise from floppy head make think floppy wait approximatly one minute
between each read.
No problem with pxe boot with

duplicate 'const char *program;' in extlinux/main.c
There is still a duplicate line in 3.82 extlinux/main.c
I had think to already have reported that but didn't find the mail again in
the send box so I am now unsure.

Trouble with Superfloppy format
Hello,
are there known issues with some bioses not booting from Superfloppy format?
All I get is the Syslinux (c) line and nothing else happens afterwords.
Everything works fine if a partition is added to the device. Unfortunately
however the target device can not be partitioned.
Any hint?

ext2/ext3 256 bytes inode problem
Hello,
seems like the new default ext2/ext3 256 bytes inode size problem
applies to extlinux.
HPA, could you confirm it?

[RFC] make extlinux work without mount the filesystem
Hello syslinux,
I'm a newbie to extlinux, and I'm a developer from yocto project
(an embedded linux project).
The device or filesystem must be mounted before we can install the
bootsector to the device if I understand correctly, for example:
$ mount /dev/sdcX /tmp/mnt
$ extlinux -i /tmp/mnt
Usually, the mount command requires the root privilage, we may not
have the root privilage when

3.62-pre16: Compiling on old (2.4 kernel) distros
I have put a compile hack in for older distros and pushed it out as
syslinux-3.62-pre16; for those who have reported compilation problem on
older distros I would greatly appreciate if you could confirm if it
works now (it worked for me on a CentOS 3.9 VM.)

extlinux can't find extlinux.conf file?
When I try to boot my system using extlinux I get the error:
EXTLINUX 3.51 2007-06-10 EBIOS Copyright (C) 1994-2007 H. Peter Anvin
Could not find kernel image: linux
boot: ????????????????????????????????
I've searched the archives and it would appear that extlinux can't find
the extlinux.conf file.... Is there something glaring that I am missing?
TIA - Phil

Problems with 4.04-pre14
Hello.
I've been testing pxelinux.0 (4.04-pre14) on some laptops:
- HP EliteBook 6930P with BIOS F.18.
- HP EliteBook 8440P with BIOS F.06.
- Dell Latitude E4310 with BIOS A06.
When booting pxelinux.0, the machines first display some random letters
in different colors and then reboot.
We've been using 4.02 for some time without problems. I've tested 4.03
too and it seems to work.

Booting a multi-ISO CD on a Mac.
Is this even a possibility?
Both my brother and I have PPC G3 Mac's that we would like to install
Linux on. I have downloaded a couple of Debian ISOs and a couple of
Gentoo ISOs. All four would easily fit on a single CD. So, my
question/problem is, is it possible to configure a menu to chose
between them, that will boot up on a Mac PPC?
Thanks,
Lonnie

extlinux and install script
Hi,
I'm new the syslinux and found some bug.
For example, when I install a boot file system into /mnt/boot during
usb booted system, the extlinux reports the following error.
/usr/bin/extlinux -i /mnt/boot
/mnt/boot is device proc
/usr/bin/extlinux: cannot open device proc
But /mnt/boot is mounted on /dev/sda1 and ext3 file system.
I read the source code and found the following code in

Last call for Syslinux 3.70
Hi all,
I have just released syslinux-3.70-pre25. Unless someone has something
big and scary that either I have managed to miss or was just stumbled
over, I'm going to release 3.70 final some time between tomorrow and Monday.
Thus, *please holler now* if there are any stop-ship problems still known...
