Deciles and R
Hi everyone, I'm a new R user (if this is a really basic question, please do excuse me...) and I'm having some questions regarding a deciles problem. I have a variable which I need to categorize according to its deciles (X). However, this categorization should be made into another variable (call it NewVar). Ex. for the quartiles case (just for the sake of exposition, since I need

Limit distribution of continuous-time Markov process
I have (below) an attempt at an R script to find the limit distribution of a continuous-time Markov process, using the formulae outlined at http://www.uwm.edu/~ziyu/ctc.pdf, page 5. First, is there a better exposition of a practical algorithm for doing this? I have not found an R package that does this specifically, nor anything on the web. Second, the script below will give the right

Support for tags in speex files?
Dear speex developers, Would it be possible to have tags in speex files? I have a good amount of spoken audio (currently in MP3 format) and I would like to convert it to speex, since it seems to be the best choice for voice recordings. Unfortunately, without tags, it is quite hard to identify the speeches. Ideally, I would love if tag support were included into easytag, so that I can manipulate

New MEMDISK-ISO
For anyone wanting to boot an .ISO with MEMDISK: http://git.etherboot.org/?p=people/andytim/syslinux.git;a=shortlog;h=ref s/heads/memdisk-iso NOTE: Your protected-mode OS (Windows, Linux, *BSD) booted from such a MEMDISK will not magically find the MEMDISK image in RAM and use it as a CD without a MEMDISK driver. There are currently 0 MEMDISK drivers in the field, but that might change someday.

Alive now available online
Not sure how off-topic this is, but should we consider/have we considered porting our InstCombines to Alive? The PLDI '15 paper even demos C++ extraction from Alive theorems. I think it'd be a small step from that to extracting tightly optimized VM code, not unlike what Tablegen emits. Everything would be so clean and readable and organized. And edge cases can still be handled manually,

Where did Alive go?
Sorry, we really screwed up the server migration. Alive is now working again and should be fixed for good :) Permalinks are still missing; we are working on recovering those. Alive now available online
Hi Sanjay, You used Alive correctly, of course :) At this moment we cannot give you the best precondition. It’s on the todo list, but it’s not even started yet. It’s a much harder problem to solve. We do have a mode to compute the best set of nsw/nuw/exact attributes in the transformed expression, but it’s not enabled on the web interface yet (InstCombine was missing quite a few cases last

match''ing packets by size
I visited yesican.chsoft.biz and the author proposes a way to match packets by less than some size . Here is the thing: match u16 0x0000 0xffb0 at 2 With this match he says that packet with less than 80 bytes will match the rule. Well, 0xffb0 translates to 1111 1111 1011 0000 (which is -80 BTW). So, if I am correct any packet with bits 4 and/or 5 set (together with any of the 4

Where did Alive go?
Alive is now working again. There was a migration to a new server. Permalinks are still being copied from backup; they will work again shortly as well. (I would probably not create new ones since they may get replaced while the copy is in flux).
