Syslinux 5.10pre1 - Failed to load COM32 file .c32
Hello everyone, Since I have some some adventures in UEFI PXE booting ahead I tried to go with the latest syslinux development snapshot in this case 5.10pre1. But I already fail when booting from CD with Failed to load COM32 file .c32 I am a bit perplex since no name of COM32 files is given. I am trying to trace down the issue as good as I can. Failure to boot isohybrid image from USB stick
Hi, i did not succeed to get my test computer (Asus A7V8X-X of 2004) to boot from an isohybrid image. I tried http://www.tux.org/pub/people/kent-robotti/looplinux/rip/RIPLinux-7.0-non-X.iso which is obviously isohybrid enabled. The system has a "Promise Ultra 133 TX2" IDE controller which supercedes the mainboard BIOS. To make the system react on the USB stick i set boot option

SYSLINUX 3.74-pre17: (hopefully final) release candidate
Let's try to get this thing released. Dag: will you do your RPM buildathon on this drop? Changes in 3.74: * New UI directive, which allows a more natural way to specify a menu system (or not.) With the UI directive specifying the menu system, the DEFAULT directive can be used to select the default entry inside the menus. * kbdmap.c32: new module

[PATCH] isohybrid: fix overflow on 32 bit system
When call isohybrid with option '-u', it overflows on a 32 bits host. It seeks to 512 bytes before the end of the image to install gpt header. If the size of image is larger than LONG_MAX, it overflows fseek() and cause error: isohybrid: image-x86-64-20140505110100.iso: seek error - 8: Invalid argument Replace fseek with fseeko to fix this issue. Patch to port isohybrid.pl to isohybrid.c
Hello all, Past few days I was working on porting the isohybrid perl script to c. (-> https://fedorahosted.org/fedora-engineering-services/ticket/15) The first patch towards the same is attached with this mail. And the same could also be accessed from: http://pjp.dgplug.org/tools/syslinux-3.86-isohybrid.patch I would really appreciate it if somebody could have a look at it and let me know

Build failure for isohybrid
Dear list, I have been trying to debug a build failure for a while in the utils directory on isohybrid which seems to be distro specific. On Fedora 17 64bit the build completes without problems, but under both Ubuntu 32/64bit 11.10 and 12.04 I get the following: tim at oxygen:/usr/src/git/syslinux/utils$ make gcc -O2 -luuid -o isohybrid isohybrid.o isohdpfx.o isohybrid.o: In function

usb-fdd with isohybrid??
I finally got around to testing the isohybrid, and it seemed to work in the creation, but in my lab, it sees the flash as a usb-fdd, and when I tried to boot from it, I just get a cursor in the top left. In linux it comes up as a cdrom. Is there a process for this, or is this a case of having to use another method. Some time ago, I had use syslinux to boot from a flash, but I had to set an

[PATCH] isohybrid: fix overflow on 32 bit system
Hi, hpa: > The right thing to do is compile it with #define _FILE_OFFSET_BITS 64 > and change fseek to fseeko with the appropriate type being off_t. And for GPT names it should really use 16-bit UTF-16LE characters and not 8-bit characters padded up by the same number of random bytes from the program memory. See e.g.:

How to recognize an MBR suitable for isohybrid --mac ?
Hi, i have implemented in xorriso the equivalents of isohybrid.c options --mac and --uefi. There remains the question how to ensure that the submitted MBR is prepared for the 32 byte mock-up of an APM Block0. I see in git of may 2012 that all mbr/isohdp[fp]x*.bin begin by 33 ed 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90

isohybrid: seek error - 6: Invalid argument
Hello Recently while playing with bigger iso images (>2G) looks like isohybrid from syslinux-4.02 fails. Sometimes tunning heads/sectors (-h/-s) works, because no padding is needed depending of size of the image. Some debug info provided, if more info is needed please just ask. # isohybrid -v pandereta-2010.09.13-i686.iso catalogue offset: 326 ve[0]: 1, cs: 1 ve[1]: 0, cs: 1 ve[2]: 25927,
