require_membership_of is ignored
I have a RHEL 6.3 machine successfully bound to AD using winbind, and commands like wbinfo -u and wbinfo -g output the users and groups. I can also log in as any AD user. The problem is, I can log on as any AD user. require_membership_of is being ignored. I can put in a valid group with no spaces in the name, a group by SID, and either way, everyone can log in. I've put this option in both

MEMDISK: Image seems to have fractional end cylinder
Hi, I created a 4 Meg Byte primanry DOS patition onto a hard disk. This partition was formatted with format /s. The hard drive was able to boot DOS. After that I connected the drive to a Linux machine and created and image with the command dd if=/dev/had1 of=hard.img When I send this image to my PXE client I see on the screen: MEMLINUX: Image seems to have fractional end cylinder MEMLINUX:

MEMDISK Presence API
Hello, How do I set up the registers to find out that MEMLINUX is installed? I know it is an int 13h / ah=08h call - but I cannot figure out how to specify the other registers... Also, I need to find a way to be able to: unhook int 13h and int 15h and put them back to the BIOS vectors, and yes, I know some DOSses rehook int 13 - but it can be done.. I need to be able to boot a CD, load the

extlinux doesn't boot 3.0 kernel on a brand new HP 8200sff workstation
Hi, I compiled a 3.0 kernel for my system, used the same config of my already working 2.6.39.1 kernel on the same system. But whenever extlinux tries to load my 3.0 kernel it crashes instantly and reboots, not even 1 kernel msg is displayed. So it seems like the kernel isn't loaded at all and crashes. Rgds, /reni

who am i
I don't think this is a problem with su. The same occurs when running login in a shell, then logging out. I've seen this bug in FreeBSD since early 4.x, I guess I just never bothered to mention it, thinking someone would notice and fix it. It has certainly scared me a few times, it would be nice if it was corrected. Thanks. -----Original Message----- From:

Buggy bios, boot of dos image hangs with syslinux, but not with isolinux
Hi We have a couple of FSC Computers here which seem to have a very strange bios. I am trying to boot a MS-DOS disk to flash an Scsi Raid controller. Since the computer doesn't have a floppy anymore I tried syslinux from an usb stick. The menu loads fine but I cannot boot disc images with memdisk on this computer. It works fine on others, of course. But now comes the weird part, if I use the

metafor package: effect sizes are not fully independent
In a classical meta analysis model y_i = X_i * beta_i + e_i, data {y_i} are assumed to be independent effect sizes. However, I'm encountering the following two scenarios: (1) Each source has multiple effect sizes, thus {y_i} are not fully independent with each other. (2) Each source has multiple effect sizes, each of the effect size from a source can be categorized as one of a factor levels

How to create a hard disk image to load with pxelinux
Hello: I'm trying to load a DR-DOS image for a set of thin clients through the memlinux module of pxelinux. After some help from the people at the Etherboot list, I was able to make a DR-DOS 2.88 floppy image and loaded it O.K. The problem is that the program I need to deploy requires a C: drive, so I'm trying to create a hard disk image to load. I couldn't find any help on how to

Fetching TFTP server from dos/memlinux via pxelinux?
I am using pxelinux to boot a dos image using memdisk. Now what I'd like to do is connect via tftp and fetch an additional file from DOS. I am using the 'keeppxe' memdisk option; can I access the pxe stack from DOS, and retrieve the TFTP server address? I am using MS-DOS currently, and syslinux-1.76. -- Andre Dalle [andre at dalle.ca]

gpxelinux.0: pxechain to another NBP then RET fails
IRC user ernini first noticed this. We both tried using gpxe/gpxelinux.0 from Syslinux-4.04-pre22. ernini used pxechain to a commercial NBP which RETs (the same as PXELINUX) and failed. Both of us had success with core/pxelinux.0 from Syslinux-4.04-pre22. For my test, I have a VM in VMware Server 2.0.2 (VMHW v7). I loaded gpxelinux.0 using the VM's built-in PXE ROM. Then I used

memdisk 1680K floppy support
Hi, I was wondering if 1680K floppy support in memdisk was planned, impossible or undesirable :) I noticed RIP is providing a slightly more stuffed 1680K floppy (but no 2880K floppy) and I had hoped memdisk could support this. Kind regards, -- dag wieers, dag at wieers.com, http://dag.wieers.com/ -- [all I want is a warm bed and a kind word and unlimited power]

Vector Assignments

I would like to create another vector col that is the same length of x such that: if x[i] < 250 then col[i] = "red" else if x[i] < 500 then col[i] = "blue" else if x[i] < 750 then col[i] = "green" else col[i] = "black" for all i I am convinced that there is probably a
