Problem with menu.c32
I'm trying to use menu.c32 to boot different kickstart files.
The problem I have is regardless of what menu item I select, it always uses
the client.cfg (default entry) even if I select one of the others.
Any ideas.
Thanke,
Mike Jarka

Documentation / Submenu
Hi,
i tried webgen and find it good and fast to use.
But imho the documentation is bad and incomplete.
Actually i''m stuck and have no idea how to build a menu with submenus
as seen on the webgen page. (like the documentation menu)
Any hints, pointers or howto''s ?
Cheers,
Michael

Submenu show delay (MenuShowDelay)
Hi,
I'm having an annoying problem with wine regarding the menu delays in wine applications (how long it takes for a submenu to appear when I move the mouse over it in a menu). The delay seems to be stuck at zero, and no matter what I do I cannot seem to be able to increase it to a "normal" value. As I understand the delay should be determined by the MenuShowDelay registry variable

Fix: menu immediate for submenu
Hello,
the hot key assigned to a MENU BEGIN (via MENU LABEL) doesn't cause the submenu to be entered automatically when MENU IMMEDIATE is used (at previous level). Here's a patch over syslinux 6.03. Patch was tested on Debian.
Regards
Dany

Deploying in Dreamhost
What pain. I am ready to switch hosts. I have this app in Dreamhost
where I load the static pages just fine. The location of my rails app
is /home/username/webaddress.com Under that resides the app/, public/
and so on. Like I said I can see my static pages that I have under
public since I have in the Managed host panel the following:

DBAN and vesamenu.c32
I'm integrating DBAN (http://dban.sourceforge.net/) into our PXE boot
menu system (using vesamenu.c32) but it just hangs when I'm using
vesamenu.c32 and confusingly when I revert our menu system to using
vesa.c32 it works ok. I've stripped out any extraneous configuration but
it still seems to have the same problem.
When I use this in pxelinux.cfg it boots into DBAN ok:

vesamenu.c32: Last line of HELP MSG does not appear
This appears to be a bug:
In case the TEXT HELP for a menu entry extends over several lines and
you manually set MENU HELPMSGROW and MENU HELPMSGENDROW, the last line
of the TEXT HELP will not be visible.
Concrete example:
MENU HELPMSGROW 24
MENU HELPMSGENDROW 26
LABEL bug
TEXT HELP
This is the first line, it is visible :D
This is the second line, it is hidden :(

A couple vesamenu.c32 questions
I've recently started the effort of porting my "simple.c" menu system to
use vesamenu.c32 instead. I really like the graphical interface, and
the READMEs have been very helpful.
What I am curious about is whether or not there is an option for adding
entry separators similar to the add_sep(); option which is available in
the "simple.c" menu system? Right now I have set up

MENU CLEAR with vesamenu
How does MENU CLEAR work for vesamenu?
I see no difference with and without the "MENU CLEAR" directive in config file.
As soon as I choose from menu, the boot graphics logo is always erased
and screen switches to textmode, regardless of MENU CLEAR. I expected
the screen to stay in graphics mode while kernel and initrd is loading
(while the dots are displayed). Is my expectation wrong? Is

vesamenu causing screen lock-up
Dear all,
I have recently been playing with vesamenu.c32. It seems to work quite
well on my hardware test machines. However, it's not really working as
expected on VMWare-based test machines.
(It's really nice to have a slick background image!)
As soon as i choose an option and boot a linux kernel, the menu does
not go away.
Instead i'm left with an unresponsive menu stuck om the

slow loading after using timeout and vesamenu.c32
All,
I've been setting up an etherboot-PXE-syslinux environment for booting a
number of HP/Compaq servers. Today I was playing around with using
vesamenu and background pictures, and I noticed a weird behaviour when
I used vesamenu.c32 with and without a timeout. I will obviously be
needing a timeout for unattended operation, but whilst I was testing I
had it disabled most of the time.

vesamenu.c32 retain image
Hello.
vesamenu.c32 can currently display a PNG image along the menu.
But when the kernel is started, the image is lost.
LILO supports bmp-retain option, where the bitmap graphic is retained
when control is passed to the loaded kernel image; i.e., the screen is
not blanked to alphanumeric mode before starting the kernel.
Is it possible for vesamenu.c32 (or syslinux in general) to support

Maybe I am just not looking in the right spot but I can't figure out how to set a default menu in my isolinux.cfg. This is what it looks like:

any plans for UTF8 in vesamenu.c32?
Hi,
UTF8 is a standard today. Nevertheless it seems to be impossible to display UTF8 characters in vesamenu.c32. Am I wrong? There is nothing about that in the docs. Are there plans to make vesamenu.c32 UTF8 capable or make syslinux capable e.g. for LC_ALL=de_DE.UTF8?
Best regards,

3.20-pre5 vesamenu works pretty well in ATI and Intel VGA chips
The 3.20-pre5 vesamenu works pretty well in ATI (Radeon Mobility M6) and
Intel VGA chips (82865G Integrated). Awesome!
If I remove the png file, it will fall back to the text mode. Just one
more question, I'd like to make this text mode color looks like that
default one in menu.c32, but when I use "MENU COLOR ..." to change the
setting, it seems no affect. Where am I wrong? If it can
