Problem browsing my unix-client - session setup failed: NT_STATUS _CANT_ACCESS_DOMAIN_INFO
I installed samba 3.0015. I have a problem when I try to browse my machine from a windows client. In effect I am not able to "open" my unix-client. I checked nmbd and smbd and they are running. If I try from my unix-clinet: smbclient -L my_user -W my_domain -L my_PDC I can see shares. If I try from my unix client: smbclient -L my_user -W my_domain -L my_unix_client I get session setup

[BUG] No shadows on panel/menus unless shadow_radius is a multiple of 5
Greetings to everybody, After erasing any previous compiz configuration, I recently installed Compiz 0.5.0, compiling it from the official tarball and I must say the whole experience is a bit smoother without the cruft of my past experiments and (mis)configurations. I had one problem though: no shadows on gnome-panel and menus, switching back to 0.4 didn't help. Then I found this old thread

USB DVD/CDRW not automounting
I 'just' noticed that my USB DVD/CDRW is not automounting in my Centos 5 installs. Various USB drives do: USB flash drives, USB multi card drives, and USB IDE converters. I can issue a: mnt /dev/cdrom /media but why is this needed?

Direct access to SCSI cdrw
Hello, I tried to install Yamaha cdrw at FreeBSD 5.1. At 4.8 stable all was Ok. Now I have in kernel configuration sym device. But cdrecord shows message "No such file or directory. Cannot open SCSI driver". Maybe I must have /dev/sym0 device or something else? If yes, then how to create it with help of devfs? There are no much info in devfs's manual. -- Oleg Shevtsov

HI, I configured a minimum install on Centos 4.4 and then added postfix+dovecot+openwebmail I want to use Mondo Rescue (disaster recovery solution) and the program needs CD-R/RW and DVD-+R/RW support. What are the packages required to install via yum to provide support for the creation of CD/DVD? I know mkisofs and cdrecord are two of them, what others? thanks, --

cdrw firmware update
Hello, I need to do a firmware update for my cdrw and because of a missing linux program for doing that I thought of using wine for trying it. I call the programm FlashTool.exe and no error messages occur. (The surface really looks great!) The programm detects correctly the flashable cdrw-drive even with ide-scsi and the non-flashable cdrom. But then when I click on "continue" nothing

Betr.: VPN
IF you are not stuck to IPSec, you might want to take a look at OpenVPN (www.openvpn.org). I found OpenVPN easier to install than FreeSWAN (an IPSEC VPN) and have setup an OpenVPN solution between my German office and our mainoffice in a matter of hours.
