intermittent pxe failure
Hi,
I have an intermittent pxelinux boot problem. It happens rarely, for example
it happened one day and then did not happen again until 6 days later. However
when it does happen it is rather serious as it affects all clients on the
network. Here is some basic info:
- IBM netvista PCs, built-in pxe, banner says it is "PXE 2.x".
- happens rarely, but when it does it affects all clients.

data.frame to list
Hi,
I'm new to R, and I'm not a statistician (stunned silence). I am trying to do
the following:
1. read in a 2-column data file, e.g.
status new
db green
title "Most Significant Excursions"
2. end up with an R list such that I can write e.g.
lst$title
and have R return "Most Significant Excursions".
I know I could do this by coding
lst = list(title="Most

function parameters - testing
Hello,
I am trying to test a function argument to see if it is or is not a useful
number. However I cannot seem to find a test that works. For example

+ print(is.null(x))
+ }
>rm(x)
> f(z)
[1] TRUE
Error in print(is.null(x)) : Object "z" not found
exists gives TRUE, but then any other kind of test I try to run gives me an

R debugging options
Hello,
What options are available for me to debug my R scripts? For example I
normally do something like
>source("myfunctions.R")
>function1("height", "weight")
myfunctions.R is a large R source file that contains many functions. function1
is the "main" function in myfunctions.R. It calls many other user-written

Problem using tftpd-hpa 0.34 and armmon bootloader on remote embedded arm-linux board
Hi all,
I've been struggling with this for several days now so any help would be very
much appreciated!
I have a compulab embedded arm board which runs a bootloader called ArmMon.
ArmMon supports file fetching over ethernet via a built in tftp client, and
Compulab recommend the use of winagents tftp server for windows ... which is

TFTP Secondary Ports
I'm publishing tftp through my firewall to support external Cisco 7960
sip phones. I know that the primary port is 69 for tftp. However, tftp
also uses secondary ports ranging from 1,0XX to 30,XXX. ( A broad range)
In an effort to limit the secondary ports that are opened, some Windows
based tftp server such as the winagents product allows you to limit the
range of secondary ports that are

PXE boot hangs while transferring vmlinuz or initrd.img
Hi,
I have a user that is experiencing problems pxe booting several
identical servers. pxelinux.0 is from syslinux 3.63 and the TFTP
server is 0.42 running on CentOS 5.2.
After loading pxelinux.0, the client will then start transferring
vmlinuz and initrd.img via tftp. More than half the time, the
transfer will get stuck and then eventually print a timeout message.
I ran tcpdump and I can see

Good catch! It was indeed SELinux preventing the directory from being
created. Disabling it allows that to happen. For instance I just created a
new test user in LDAP:
#ssh odunphy at ops2.example.com
odunphy at ops2.example.com's password:

PXE boot hangs after trying to load cfg/<max address>
Hi,
i'm trying to get my VIA Epia with VIA Rhine ethernet device to boot
PXELinux. I have done this before, but now i can't get it to work.
The machine loads pxelinux.0, i see some messages. But it fails just
after trying reading the first config file (the one with the mac
address). It kinda says this (transcribed):
CLIENT IP: 192.168.1.23 MASK: 255.255.255.0 DHCP IP: 192.168.1.93

syslinux6 EFI fail to boot via pxe
Hello,
I tried to boot the new syslinux.efi (32bit) from the released syslinux 6 via PXE. In a wireshark trace I can see that the syslinux.efi was loaded successfully via TFTP.
Then the client try to load ldlinux.e32. I see the request and also the acknoledgement in the trace. After that the client try to load the file, but the source port is changed to tftp request port + 1.
