SYSLINUX 3.50 released
Well, SYSLINUX 3.50 has been in development since September of last year (it was originally a branch off 3.31), and the diff against 3.36 is almost 15,000 lines. I doubt it's going to be bug free, but prereleases can only get you so far with respect to testing. Thus, it's time to push the button and getting this thing out into the world. I hereby announce SYSLINUX 3.50. Special thanks

3.62-pre16: Compiling on old (2.4 kernel) distros
I have put a compile hack in for older distros and pushed it out as syslinux-3.62-pre16; for those who have reported compilation problem on older distros I would greatly appreciate if you could confirm if it works now (it worked for me on a CentOS 3.9 VM.) -hpa

Patches to help pre16 run on NetBSD
-lwrap on NetBSD doesn't like not having some of its global variables defined, so linking it to anything but sshd is bad. This patch fixes Makefile.in and configure/configure.in to make this work. menu.c32 empty label?
The attached config works, but gives 2 error messages that get covered up by the GUI screen so fast I cannot read them. I think they are probably about having 'LABEL' with nothing after it. I was trying to follow the example in menu.doc but somehow I'm doing it wrong. Please consider helping me figure out how to get the same resulting GUI menu without any error messages. I am using

max of MENU ROWS?
Hi, I've seem to hit the roof of "MENU ROWS". I've got 15 entries in the menu, and thus I've set "MENU ROWS 15" in my cfg. But that makes the TABMSG get partly written over the last entry. Also, the AUTOBOOT message gets written over the bottom border of the menu. I get these results with boot versions 3.62 and 3.70 of syslinux. Is this a bug, or is it possible

extlinux issue
Trying again since the mailing list says I have a 'suspiscous header'. I have been told to get linux running on two HP DL360G4p machines (ancient rackmount xeon stuff). Unfortunately, while isolinux boots fine from CDROM, and extlinux can boot a USB stick, I cannot get extlinux to boot from the CCISS hard disks (two disks in hardware raid 1 configuration). I searched on google a lot,

problems booting isolinux
Hello List, I have used isolinux for years without problems. Recently I decided to upgrade from 3.09 to 3.11. Every CD I create can be read on my Vectra (Pentium 3) and all other Pentium 3 boxes, but all my Pentium 4 boxes will not boot (they ignore the CD and boot from hard disk). The bochs VM will boot the CDs fine just like the Pentium 3 machines. I have tried 3.09 (which worked

SYSLINUX 3.50-pre14 pushed out; adds INCLUDE support
It really turned out not to be all that hard to do, after all. I definitely feel a bit silly, but there you have it. Please test this out as 3.50 really is way overdue to get out the door. -hpa

Strange Lockup
Hi All, We seem to have a strange problem with our NEC ML4 pcs. When using pxelinux to network boot, we are getting our menu (using menu.c32) when we choose a option the machine just locks up. If the option requires a password it shows the password box , I put in the password and then it locks up. But strangely the machine will boot from local disk which is an option on the boot menu. Our

isolinux regression? / problem? v3.50 and newer.
Greetings, I have been using isolinux with Microsoft's cdimage.exe for my Utility / Preinstallation cds. I just upgraded from 3.36 to 3.55 and found it to be non functional. I didn't use the -debug version, it just hangs at the version banner. I went through several previous versions, and it appears that 3.50-pre23 is the last working version. I didn't see anything between that

Problem booting extlinux from disk
Hi, I am having a problem booting from a disk installed with extlinux. The exact configuration that worked with version 3.36, when upgraded to 3.50, appears to still work on the same disk. But if I zap out the disk (i.e. start from scratch again) and install extlinux, the disk fails to boot. Extlinux stops at the boot: prompt after displaying "Could not find kernel image: linux". It

isolinux, extlinux and accented characters
Hello, First of all, thanks very much for this piece of software, it's working like a charm. I'm using it to boot a Linux distro I'm working on. What I want to deal with is the display of accented characters in ISOLINUX. First, I set EXTLINUX up to boot an ext2-formatted USB stick. No problem so far. I wrote a config file ordering to load a font (lat-9w) to display french

Request for enlightenment..
I figure I'm probably trying to do something stupid, but here goes. I'm trying to boot a hard disk image (with one 420MB partition, lilo in the MBR) containing debian etch (kernel 2.6.18) using memdisk (onto a dell 2950 with 8G of ram). Lilo (22.6.1) fails on memdisk 3.35, 3.36, 3.50, 3.51, and 3.52-pre, with L 99 99 99 99 et al, but works on 2.x, 3.00 and 3.31. However, the kernel
